Summary:
Protein Expression Sciences (PES) seeks an innovative PhD Scientist to develop new technologies to support Regeneron's antibody discovery pipeline. The technology development group is expanding efforts to develop high throughput methods and assays to better isolate and characterize antibody-derived fragments. This candidate would develop novel scaffolds for antibody expression, and advance new antibody isolation platforms and screening assays.
Responsibilities:

• Design and implement new methodologies to isolate antibodies from VelocImmune™ mice.

• Design alternative antibody scaffolds and reformat variable regions.

• Apply in-silico structure analysis to develop new antibody formats.

• Develop mammalian cell-based platforms to screen for antibodies with unique binding abilities.

• Collaborate with internal groups to develop high throughput assays to characterize antibody fragments for stability, affinity and antigen binding.

• Actively communicate results and prepare presentations for departmental meetings.
Requirements:

• PhD in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology or related fields.

• 3-5 years post-doctoral experience in antibody and/or protein engineering and expression.

• Experience with library construction, and high throughput screening.

• Expertise in one or more commonly used molecular modeling software packages, preferred.

• Strong molecular biology skills and tissue culture experience.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
