REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Global Cloud Architecture

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Associate Director, Business Platforms role reports into the Senior Director, Global Cloud Architecture and is a primary technical business partner to the Commercial, Human Resources, Finance and other SG&A teams.

Responsibilities include overseeing platform connectivity, development and governance for Orchard's corporate platforms including, but not limited to, CRM, HRIS and ERP. This role will also play a key part in working with IT and the business to define the Information Architecture foundation, Master Data Management process and service model across the enterprise as well as consolidation of the Business Intelligence solutions and methods.

This role will also play a key part in the inaugural design, development and deployment of a corporate wide data strategy with Data governance. This will include defining requirements for data matching and merging rules, survivorship criteria and data stewardship workflows that can be deployed in a future MDM environment.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage upcoming projects for the incumbent functional lines to ensure success from vendor selection through to implementation and beyond - this includes the launch of Orchard's CRM and HRIS environments, both built atop Sales Force and the continued optimization of Orchard's ERP environment built atop NetSuite
  • Manage business partner expectations by negotiating the needs and expectations of the functional lines within the context of Orchard's larger strategy design in a highly regulated environment
  • Proactively work to translate business requirements into functional outcomes and realize value through the best and most effective use of technology. Define system needs and resolve application system problems through collaboration between functional lines, IT staff and vendors
  • Effectively manage platforms for which the incumbent is responsible following the entire SDLC framework and adhering to security best practices and policy
  • Participate in the design of testing procedures and in the testing of new applications
  • This role is also responsible for adhering to all regulatory, financial and similar compliance initiatives


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with an information system, computer programming, or data analysis focus, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and extensive applicable experience
  • A minimum of 7 years technical work experience, including at least 5 years of work with SFDC (Salesforce dotcom) is required
  • One or more com (SFDC) Certifications, especially Advanced Certifications - including (Advanced) Administrator, (Advanced) Developer, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Technical Architect
  • Energetic, self-motivated candidate with high productivity, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Proficiency with SQL, SOQL, Tableau and Excel for data manipulation and complex custom reports
  • Ability to work night and weekends when necessary
  • Willingness to travel if necessary, for training and work purposes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both written and verbal as well as facilitation skills
  • A strong sense of focus and excellent attention to detail while working in a fast paced, growing environment
  • A great attitude, willingness and ability to work within and between groups and all organization levels smoothly to support productivity improvement initiatives

Preferred:
  • Experience developing and deploying SFDC in a global life sciences company preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with SFDC or other comparable CRM software platforms, including a deep understanding of key CRM architectural concepts, and how they influence design decisions and the development approach
  • Expert knowledge of design patterns and best practices
  • Expert knowledge building cloud-based web applications
  • Expert knowledge of REST style web services
  • Experience in AGILE development, SCRUM and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
  • Experience or knowledge in foundational information management arenas, such as Master Data Management, Data Governance, Modern Data Architecture, and Data Integration
  • Experience in Data Architecture/Modeling, Validation, Business rules, ETL, iPaaS, Data Quality and MDM tools, Data Quality Services, and Master Data Services
  • Experience deploying and operating on a public cloud framework such as AWS, or OpenStack
