The Compliance Manager reports into the Associate Director of Compliance, Enterprise Excellence for US Patient Services (Team X-Factor). This role is responsible to identify, evaluate and assess compliance risks to key areas of the business. This role will partner with OEC and Legal to ensure compliant and risk averse patient service programs and environments for all brands. This includes monitoring and audit processes, documentation, and point of contact for compliance committees and legal.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Lead internal and external audit management for supplier and vendor assessments, maintain standard audit process and documentation, conduct internal operational audits, coordinate and lead external audits, and create audit reporting and metrics.
  • Conduct, document, report and monitor performance issues. Oversee and refine monitoring programs to assess and mitigate risk, ongoing internal and external monitoring plans and effectiveness, and monitor CAPA (Corrective Action Preventative Action) and governance
  • Responsible for identifying potential noncompliance before they can occur. Responsible for a full reconciliation of each program after it is completed to ensure all compliance requirements were met identifying any noncompliance incidents that are further investigated by OEC.
  • Influence key patient service business leads to implement compliance programs and controls and may be assigned to core function as Business Compliance SME.
  • Stakeholder Management: Responsible for engaging existing Enterprise Excellence partners, identifying new partners, providing awareness to key programs, set expectations, influence decisions, and maintain good relationships. Provide awareness and knowledge about compliance plans and execution to the business. Partner with cross-functional teams to uphold standard operating procedures, audit management, new regulation and standards pull through, objective evidence gathering, monitoring pull through and reporting, and risk assessment strategy for patient services.
  • Resource Management: Responsible for contributing to the development resource management strategy and organizational structure of multiple business and/or technology domain.
  • Partner with Associate Director Compliance, Enterprise Excellence to create and establish above processes and programs and support development of Compliance team through influence and leadership.
  • Liaison and Relationship Building: Builds collaborative relationships and effectively interacts frequently with business and/or technology leadership. Interactions focus on top priority project and influencing strategic decisions. Interacts well with diverse groups across business and technology functions and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
  • Culture: Consistently demonstrate Abbvie's Ways of Working and Leadership Attributes including an enterprise mindset and people leadership. Understand and execute AbbVie's vision, goals and strategies.


Basic:
  • Position requires BS degree in a science related area. Master's degree and work experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • 8+ years of audit management, compliance and monitoring program development and execution.
  • This role requires strong leadership, organizational, strategic thinking, analytical and reporting skills and strong understanding of the patient services and pharmaceutical business.
  • Proven ability to drive outstanding employee performance and engagement through developing, coaching, motivating, energizing and inspiring team members.
  • Requires an in-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical patient centricity, OEC and Legal and a customer-service oriented.
  • The position requires human relations and administrative skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, co-leaders and leadership in Commercial, Business Technology Services, Legal, OEC, Manufacturing Operations, Global Medical Affairs, Promotions, Brand teams, and Global Patient Services.
  • The individual must possess sound judgment in evaluating and establishing compliance strategic plans as well as in day-to-day situations.
  • Conflict resolution skills including persuasive management techniques required.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills required. Ability to communicate concepts and problems in terms that are understandable to all levels of the organization, including C-Suite.
