.Job Summary

The Director, Patient Services leads the development, implementation, and management of Ipsen's patient services programs (i.e., Patient Assistance Programs, Co-Pay Support Programs, Reimbursement Hotline, Patient Services Website, Foundation Support, Case Management Support, and other Patient Services related support programs). This position functions as a subject matter expert on patient / reimbursement support services and collaborates cross functionally with Commercial leadership to develop and implement programs that support Ipsen's patient access objective

Essential Functions

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of recommendations and implementation plans for patient services programs ("hub " support services) that achieve Ipsen brand specific patient access objectives and KPI's
  • Manage all Patient Services Programs including management of all Ipsen hub vendors
  • Manage Ipsen's participation in foundation support programs
  • Enhance and maintain SOPs and business rules related to all Ipsen US patient support functions
  • Enhance performance dashboards to interpret hub data for purposes of assessing market access trends, hub program utilization, and performance against defined KPIs
  • Ensure compliant content for Ipsen's US Patient Support website, including reimbursement guides and related pull-through materials, ensuring optimal information and resource support for healthcare providers, patients, and care givers
  • Support the brand planning process by developing patient services related content
  • Partner with brand teams to drive patient service offerings through patient advocacy organizations
  • Manage Sr. Manager Patient Services
  • Develop hub vendor training program materials as necessary
  • Conduct hub vendor audits as necessary
  • Support field sales through key customer facing meetings - provide Patient Services education to key accounts and enlist customer feedback to improve Hub services offerings

  • Field Role or Cambridge, MA based - Reports to Senior Director, Reimbursement & Patient Services; manages Manager, Patient Services. Prefer Cambridge based or NC

 


Scope Measures

 

 

 

  • Manages Ipsen's Patient Services Hub budget
  • Oversees Manager, Patient Services
  • Works closely with Sr. Director, Reimbursement & Patient Services on key decisions

 


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required

Experience and Education (minimums)

 

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from accredited college or university; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 12 years of pharmaceutical/biotech/healthcare experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in developing and implementing hub support programs
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing vendors and getting results and reports from outsourcing partners
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience in Medicare (Part A, Part B, Part C, and Part D), Medicaid, and private payer policies, reimbursement process, health policy, areas of coverage, payment, coding, Specialty Pharmacy, and buy and bill
  • Minimum 4 years' experience reviewing clinical literature, including disease state information and target product profiles, to develop submissions for payer engagement.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in patient focused programs within associated HIPAA regulations and other legal parameters and patient privacy policy

  • Regularly required to use hands to operate computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to safely navigate traditional pharmaceutical offices with cubicles and offices; moderate noise level;

  • Business travel by air or car is regularly required - ability to maintain extensive overnight travel (up to 50%).
