Oncology Franchise Marketing is a recently formed team within U.S. Commercial Oncology Marketing. Oncology Franchise Marketing is composed of five sub-teams: New Product Planning & New Business Insights, Companion Diagnostics, Advocacy and Professional Relations Thought Leader Engagement, and Franchise Marketing Execution!

The Franchise Marketing team is responsible for leading strategy and improving efficiency across all of U.S. Oncology as it relates to the following focus areas: Congresses, Sponsorships, Speaker Programs, GPO Execution, and External Consulting arrangements. This group works collaboratively with other U.S. Commercial Oncology teams to establish and lead strategies derived from brand plans, build annual plans related to the above focus areas, and work alongside AbbVie internal functions to support flawless execution.

The Marketing Manager, Oncology Franchise Marketing position will have responsibility for leading Congress and Sponsorship strategy and planning across the Franchise in collaboration with functional partners - including leading all aspects of the annual planning process. The successful candidate will closely collaborate with U.S. Hematology and future Oncology Brand, Internal and External Agencies, Managed Health Care / GPO, Medical, Market Analytics and Business Intelligence (MABI), Legal, Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC), Global Marketing and Commercial Operations (GMCO), Patient Advocacy, Field Operations, Field Sales, and Business Services teams in order to plan, execute, and create materials for various marketing-sponsored meetings!
Major Responsibilities:
  • Lead the integrated strategy and annual planning process for Congresses and Sponsorships related to cross-franchise brand plans
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process to ensure appropriate funding in order to deliver on brand objectives, including management of this budget
  • Be responsible for the cross-franchise Congress and Sponsorship master calendar to ensure timelines, logistics and attendance objectives are met for national and marketing-sponsored meetings
  • Lead all aspects of cross-functional teams in order to execute upon Congress and Sponsorship objectives (e.g., American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, Oncology Nursing Society, and other major Congresses that may be applicable)
  • Analyze and lead Sponsorship opportunities for maximum return on investment
  • Collaborate with brand teams on maximizing presence and delivering on Field Sales representative-delivered materials for regional / local conferences and advocacy meetings
  • Lead and coordinate the tactical execution and accountability of key tactics, including review, approval and delivery of derivative materials (e.g., booths, panels, materials, sponsorship art and messages)
  • Oversee approval of Statements of Work / Purchase Orders, including coordination with relevant vendors and other logistics, as required
  • Ensure adherence to relevant policies and procedures related to planning and executing Congresses and Sponsorships, in collaboration with OEC
  • Lead Oncology Franchise Marketing governance processes for Congresses and Sponsorships, track metrics, and develop reporting / present outputs to Oncology Franchise teams
  • Continually contribute to process and capability innovation through assessments and recommendations
  • Stay current on all processes and procedures related to Congresses and Sponsorships
  • Continually seek out standard methodologies from other Abbvie franchises


Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years relevant experience
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Solid business acumen
  • Excellent tact and facilitation skills; ability to influence without authority
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Computer skills, MS Office and third-party software as needed
  • Preferred:
  • Knowledge of AbbVie policies, procedures, culture, and other brand team operations
  • Knowledge and experience in the solid tumor and hematology Oncology markets
  • Continuous Improvement and/or Change Management skills
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred (Client or Agency)
  • Congress and Sponsorship management experience desired (Client or Agency)
