SUMMARY
The Undergrad Coop will work closely with a multidisciplinary team at Quality Control Laboratories.
The Undergrad-COOP will apply the skills learned at the university in the pharmaceutical industry and learn new ones from hands on experience of work assignment. Key skills include but are not limited to: communication, planning, organization, problem solving, team-working, data monitoring etc. This role will work and/or support real projects under supervision and guidance of highly skilled professionals that will help student to gain practical experience in the pharmaceutical field. Selected candidate hire date will be September 2019.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Provide support to engineering staff as needed.
- Work with other engineers by assisting with their day-to-day activities.
- Work with a diverse group of cross - functional areas in the Quality Control Laboratories.
- Assist the Continuous Improvement Leader with Projects in one or more areas including:
- Analyze and resolve work problems, and assist workers in solving problems.
- Design and implementation of Work Cells, Kanban, Standard Work and FIFO lane.
- Data Interpretation
- Conducts time studies.
- Identify and recommend continuous improvement activities (using Lean techniques)
- Communicate with people diverse in language ability, educational levels and experience
BASIC C QUALIFICATIONS
At least 3.00 GPA (General)
Be in the process of earning a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering
Have completed at least 3 year of college education
Be enrolled in university
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- BSIE student who has completed the following courses: Operations Research y Statistics
- Be enroll in school under a Coop program
- Computer technical writing skills, as well as use of Word, Excel, Office
- Organizational skills, including ability to follow assignments through completion
- Strong communication (both written and oral)
- Organization and time management skills
- English and Spanish proficiency
