Summary
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Research Investigator 1 to join our Protein Analytics Group. Your primary responsibilities will be to characterize the primary, tertiary and quaternary protein structure using a variety of characterization techniques such as mass spectrometry, and sizing, hydrophobic and reversed phase chromatography. You may also represent the group at discovery team meetings for a variety of oncology projects, where you contribute with your protein characterization expertise to the selection and optimization of our therapeutic antibodies.
Specific Responsibilities
- Develop and run multiple types of protein characterization assays such as SEC-MALS, Glycan analysis, amino acid concentration, etc.
- Present data and analysis in written and oral form to project leaders and teams
- Collaborate closely with Biology, Hybridoma and Protein Engineering groups
Requirements
- PhD with 0 - 3 years, Masters with 4+ years or B.S. with 7+ years industrial experience in Biophysics, Biochemistry or a related field
- Strong understanding of biophysical concepts and solid math skills a must
- Expertise in characterizing protein structure including molecular weight, aggregation state, glycan structure, etc.
- Experience with SEC, HLIC, RP chromatography
- Experience with protein mass spectrometry
- Strong attention to detail and excellent bench skills a must
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to contribute to multidisciplinary discovery teams
