Summary:
This position is responsible for operation and maintenance of Sony MA900 high-speed cell sorter for PES busy core facility. Must be proficient in multi-laser and basic cell sorting applications. Performs proper QC and maintenenace on cell sorter and/or analyzers. Assists scientific staff with aquiring and sorting samples as well as responsible for data analysis using various flow cytometric software.
Responsibilities:
• Operates multi-laser, high-speed cell sorter and analyzer
• Responsible for the proper maintenance, alignment, calibration and troubleshooting of equipment for specific experimental requirements.
• Provides day-to-day instrument QC and maintaineance, flow cytometry cell sorting, data acquisition, data Xanalysis and data interpretation of flow cytometric experiments. May also write standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Must be flexiable and willing to perform flow cytometric duties that expedite and support scientific staff's flow cytometirc goals and objectives.
• Work with field engineers, technical support and stay abreast with latest technologies to maintain a high level of expertise and technical proficiency within core facility.
• Maintains adequate inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
Requirements:
MS and 5 years experience
• Knowledge of FACS principles as well as experience operating FACS sorters.
• Proficient with instrument alignment, calibration and troubleshooting.
• Able to use FACS analysis software (Summit, FC Express,Winlist or FlowJo) and experience performing single cell sorts and handling sterile cells.
• Requires analytical problem-solving experience.
• Experience with Sony Biotechnology Synergy and MA900 and Beckman-Coulter MoFlo flow and Influx xcytometers preferred.
