Job Details

Known for its scientific and operational excellence, Regeneron is a leading science-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, invents, develops, manufactures, and commercializes medicines for the treatment of serious medical conditions. Regeneron commercializes medicines for eye diseases, high LDL-cholesterol, atopic dermatitis and a rare inflammatory condition and has product candidates in development in other areas of high unmet medical need, including rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, pain, cancer and infectious diseases.

Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Scientist to join the Bispecific group, a multidisciplinary team that designs and evaluates novel bispecific and alternative antibody formats across multiple therapeutic areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, executing and analyzing preclinical in vivo and in vitro/ex vivo experiments to evaluate the efficacy and explore the mechanism of action of immune modulating antibodies to treat cancer. Ideal candidates will possess a deep understanding of immunology principles, and extensive laboratory experience in cellular biology/immunology with a focus or experience on in vivo mouse modeling. Ideal applicants will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as this candidate will be expected to work productively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment and efficiently present her/his findings to internal multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
  • Design, plan, and independently perform complex in vivo experiments, including establishing novel tumor models in immune compromised and immune competent mice.
  • Design complex flow cytometry (FACS) panels and perform FACS analysis on human and murine cells, tumors, and tissues.
  • Perform a variety of in vitro/ex vivo immune cell-based assays, such as FACS based cytotoxicity and serum/supernatant analyte analysis (ELISA, MSD, CBA).
  • Analyze data using biological and statistical software such as Flowjo, Prism, Excel, and algorithmic tools for high-dimensional cytometry data analysis (tSNE, SPADE, FlowSOM, etc)
  • Document experimental procedures and results in a well-organized fashion; generate experimental reports.
  • Participate in general lab duties of the team
  • Synthesize results across experiments and programs in PowerPoint presentations and present to colleagues and senior management, including clinical and regulatory teams.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the company.

Requirements
  • PhD + 3+ years post-doctoral or industry experience
  • Strong background in cellular and molecular immunology and/or immuno-oncology; experience with protein therapeutics, such bispecific or novel antibody formats, is desirable
  • Experience with designing and performing all aspects of tumor modeling in mice, including mouse handling, tumor/therapeutic implantation/injection (iv, ip, sc), tumor growth monitoring, and dissection of mouse lymphoid organs and tumors, followed by in vitro processing/purification of tissues/cells.
  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience with advanced flow cytometry including complex panel design for cell surface and intracellular staining, data acquisition and analysis.
  • Experience in cell culture (both primary cells and established cell lines), and the execution of a variety of in vitro/ex vivo immune cell-based assays
