Amgen's Global Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Operations team (Global Procurement Operations, Accounts Payable Operations, P2P Governance and Vendor Master Operations) are looking for a Process Compliance and Controls Manager to join the P2P Governance Team. The Compliance and Controls Manager will report to the Sr. Manager, Finance.

This important role will be responsible for sustaining and evolving a strong controls environment across Amgen's Procure-to-Pay process. Their priority will be enabling our business partners to buy and pay for required goods and services within an effective, efficient and compliant P2P process. They will partner closely with Process Owners, P2P Regional Service Delivery Leads, IS and Internal and External Auditors.

Key Responsibilities

Owner of global Procure-to-Pay risk and control policies and procedures. They will establish a methodology and framework for ongoing financial and operational risk identification and assessment. They will proactively adjust as needed for any new and / or changing risks.

Responsible for the global P2P compliance program ensuring effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations within Amgen's P2P process.

P2P SOX process owner: coordinate, compile, sample and review all documentation to ensure effective execution of monthly and quarterly control process. Provide updates to site leadership and other stakeholders on a regular basis.

Champion a culture of controls and compliance by ensuring risks and controls are maintained and mitigated. Partner with the various P2P Operations teams and other business stakeholders to help reinforce control integrity and best practices for executing P2P transactions in a compliant manner.

Detail and summarize auditing results and findings, including recommendations for corrective action or controls for risk mitigation.

Identify matters that require elevation to process owners and senior management on mitigation of risk and improving the efficiency of the compliance program.

Maintain and update of Global Source-to-Pay policy and procedures reflecting identified risks, operational controls and current processes.

Collaborate with internal audit to settle scope and develop annual audit plans and remediation action plans as necessary.

Provide impartial advice to ensure ongoing compliance to the P2P Operations Teams.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 2 years of Compliance and Controls execution within P2P or similar experience in other financial transactional processes

Or

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Compliance and Controls execution within P2P or similar experience in other financial transactional processes

Or

Associate's degree and 10 years of Compliance and Controls execution within P2P or or similar experience in other financial transactional processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong P2P process knowledge and understanding of the fundamental financial and operational risks impacting P2P and proper controls to mitigate.
  • Certified Public Accountant or Public Accounting experience (Big 4 preferred) in auditing of financial transactional controls with P2P experience preferred.
  • SOX compliance knowledge
  • Ability to clearly articulate risk and controls in simple terms to operations teams.
  • Experience working for a Global corporation.
  • Experience in leading partners through change with and ability to influence at all levels with a customer service attitude.
  • Experience in preparing executive communication to include written and oral presentations.
  • Ability to balance multiple activities in a fast-paced environment while delivering a timely and high-quality end work product.
