Laboratory Media Technician

The Laboratory Media Technician is responsible for preparing media in different aliquots and to prepare agar plates of varying selective grow media.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list contains the major duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive. Incumbent(s) may be expected to perform role-related duties other than those contained in this document.

• Washing and inspecting glassware
• Preparing agar plates of varying growth media and maintaining inventory
• Autoclaving media and other materials that need sterilization
• Maintain chemical and lab supplies inventory and perform routine equipment maintenance and laboratory housekeeping

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous laboratory experience preferred
