Purpose of the Position:

This position is responsible for supporting the Strategic Sourcing Team as it engages cross functional teams in enterprise-wide strategic sourcing initiatives.

The Strategic Sourcing Coordinator assesses the elements of the spend category and helps to define, execute, and support ongoing and new initiatives. Works independently taking a proactive approach in assigned commodities supporting the Sourcing team in ensuring Strategic Sourcing's value commitment to internal business partners is met.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Negotiate with vendors to obtain optimum quality, cost, terms, etc. (including GMP materials)

Gather, analyze and present data to supervisor in order to identify cost saving opportunities

Monitor sourcing projects and report on costs savings, timelines, and milestone status

Identify and propose to supervisor and alternative functional departments alternate vendors

Cultivate strategic alliances with all vendors

Supports site and cross site continuous improvement efforts to ensure efficient and effective sourcing activities

Reconciles price discrepancies with accounting if required

Manage vendor returns and maintain tracking of all returns cross sites

Job Knowledge Required:

High School diploma is required

8+ year of related experience within the Pharma industry or similar regulated industry

Basic computer skills

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ability to work successfully in a team environment

Attention to detail with strong internal and external customer focus.

Self-Motivated and capable of working independently for extended periods of time

Good customer service oriented

Strong communication verbal and written communication skills required
