Summary: Provide leadership, management and technical consultation to facilities employees and contractors, across all Rensselaer campuses in the support of general facilities and electrical maintenance, and facilities related projects, contracts and ongoing operations.

Level to be determined based on qualifications relevant to the role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Manage and lead a facilities maintenance team for general plant maintenance and electrical functions.

• Serve as Subject Matter Expert related to regulatory inspections for Buildings & Grounds and Electrical.

• Ensures all site building façade and interior walls, windows, and doors are maintained to site standards.

• Responsible for management and oversite of the site pest control program.

• Responsible for management and oversite of site contracts for general cleaning, snow removal, landscaping, and roof maintenance.

• Oversees site electrical maintenance and ensures operations of all site electrical infrastructure.

• Develop and update SOPs related to new and existing systems.

• Plan annual facilities operations budget and develop/negotiate contracts with service providers.

• Responsible for all aspects of planning and executing facilities related projects, in consideration of GMP regulatory Compliance and EH&S expectations;

• Administration of contract maintenance personnel responsible for repairs and modernization to remain compliant with regulatory general building codes.

• Develop and implement continuous improvement ideas and promotes the same with team.

• Act as area manager in compliance and facility related investigations and provide insight.

• Manage and develop direct reports including but not limited to supervisors and team leads.

• Maintain area work records utilizing the Blue Mountain Work Record System.

• Develop and implement continuous improvement ideas for site and systems.

• Responsibility of the sites appearance and cleanliness.

• Own and execute corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs)

• Ensuring that all safety procedures and regulations are adhered to.

• Develop plans for department and site growth.

Education and Experience:

• BS/BA and 7 years of engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, and/or project management experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• BS in Engineering preferred.
