Job Details
Summary:
The Bioassay group in the Therapeutic Proteins Department seeks a highly motivated Ph. D. level scientist to join a fast-paced, dynamic group involved assay development and high-throughput screening in early drug development. The successful candidate will develop relevant assays for screening and characterization of antibodies for various therapeutic areas and lead efforts in cell line engineering projects for in vitro and in vivo assays.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and contribute to assay development efforts by designing, performing and optimizing cell-based assays (e.g. luciferase, Ca++ flux, viability assays, etc.), enzymatic and ELISA-based assays, and label-free detection methods, imaging-based assays, etc.
• Generate and characterize cell lines: maintenance of cells, transient transfection, virus transduction, stable cell line generation, single-cell cloning, flow cytometry and immunocytochemistry, immunoblotting, high content screening
• Design and perform experiments to measure antibody kinetics such as rate of internalization, recycling and degradation
• Design and generate knock-out and knock-in cell lines with genome engineering.
• Design and execute high-throughput screens using 96-and 384 well formats.
• Interact in cross-functional team matrix effectively
• Analyze data, trouble-shoot experiments, meet timelines, and prepare effective summary slide presentations.
• Keep up with advances in technology and relevant disease biology.
• Communicate results to supervisor and senior managements effectively.
• Record experiments accurately in a timely manner.
• Prepare reports for patents and IND documents.
Requirements:
Required: PhD in related field of study.
Required: In-depth knowledge of signal transduction pathways, mammalian cell culture/cell line generation, immunocytochemistry and immunoblotting, molecular biological techniques
Highly preferred: Multi-well assays, cell-based assays, ELISA, flow cytometry, drug screening experience
Preferred: Genome editing by CRISPR/CAS9, internalization/degradation assays
