Role: Director, Commercial Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Logistics
Reports To: Chief Technical Officer and Senior Vice President, Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls, Quality, and CMC Regulatory
Location: San Francisco Bay Area (Palo Alto, CA)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and implements activities related to commercial external manufacturing and packaging, custom clearance, cost management, supply chain, storage, warehousing, distribution, procurement, logistics, forecast, inventory control, data management, and planning
- Assists with the establishment and maintenance of manufacturing related changes and production control systems
- Reviews and approves manufacturing batch records, change controls, audits, excursions and supply chain documents
- Ensures the availability of commercial product inventory, materials and packaging components in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels and cost
- Responsible for sourcing and supplying raw materials, utilities and outside services, as well as coordinating global procurement efforts
- Coordinates with Third Party Logistics/Client Services/Finance/Accounting for invoices and inventory carrying costs
- Reviews, plans and manages requirements for forecast and acceptable inventory
- May work with customers in auditing inventory levels and with internal and external vendors to comply with inventory policies
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- 10 to 15 years of commercial manufacturing, supply chain and logistics work experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology
