Summary:

Using prior program management knowledge and experience in the drug development industry, Sr. Manager Development Program Management will be able to provide operational leadership to a cross-functional team (including research, toxicology, process development, clinical, regulatory, manufacturing etc.) to establish and drive the execution of the program strategy of one or more assets within the broader immune-oncology/oncology pipeline.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a science driven, dynamic, innovative environment to help build out the immuno-oncology franchise and shepherd the development of immuno-oncology/oncology drugs from preclinical stages to commercialization to bring drugs to patients in need.

He/she will work with minimal supervision and use project/program management, leadership and matrix management skills to plan and drive progress on critical development activities through various stages of a program lifecycle (preclinical through commercialization). Plans and manages program activities, including the development and monitoring of program strategy plans, timelines and budgets. Nurtures productive relationships with internal and external customers. Ensures quality and timeliness of deliverables for the program are met. Initiates and coordinates the decision-making and risk-management process. Is proactive in trouble shooting and dealing with program, team and collaborator issues. Displays comfort in various settings, including alliance partners and Sr Mgmt.

Responsibilities:

• Drive evolution of strategy by working with the project leads and cross-functional teams

• Lead operational planning and implementation of development program plans

• Work with asset team to develop and manage detailed project plans across all functions including R&D, clinical, regulatory, manufacturing, commercial etc.

• Lead cross-functional program teams and develop integrated program strategy and associated timelines within the broader IO/Regeneron portfolio

• Act as asset "subject matter expert" providing ready knowledge of program milestones, key deliverables, interdependencies, and critical decisions

• Facilitate scenario planning and issue / risk evaluation and management; surface and drive resolution of key issues

• Foster a positive team culture of ownership and accountability including continuous evaluation, recognition and process improvement

• Define organizing frameworks, workflows, and communication forums to establish strategic and robust portfolio and program planning processes across the organization

• Ensure alignment of operational plans and execution with corporate goals

• Teams: Functions as a key liaison to the cross functional teams and manages the deliverables in a matrix organization to plan and execute the development strategy for the assigned programs. Drives the program's evolution through its life cycle (preclinical through commercialization) through completion within timeline, quality and budgetary constraints. Manages the deliverables of the strategic program team (SPT) for an asset and ensures execution of the SPT developed program strategy through the cross-functional team.

• Communication: Ability to effectively facilitate cross-functional discussions to align and execute on the program goals. Ensures effective, accurate and timely communication across functional areas within the program teams, serving as a primary point of contact for management regarding progress on program goals. Works with the team leads to ensure team health and fosters effective working relationships

• Planning and Tracking: Facilitates the development of the integrated program plans ensuring alignment across relevant functions and smooth transitions among pipeline stages within the broader REGN portfolio. Facilitates annual goal setting sessions to develop program level goals that are aligned with Regeneron's corporate goals. Facilitates contingency and risk mitigation planning.

• Budgets and Timelines: Oversees, the development of the integrated program budgets, forecasts and timelines and is accountable to monitor progress against the approved baselines.

• Problem Solving: Proactively identifies issues and provides general guidance on resolving program challenges by developing solutions, and is able to escalate appropriately in a timely and effective manner.

• Nature and Scope: Works independently in a cross-functional matrix organization with general / limited guidance from a supervisor or team leader. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a significant effect on the administration of the program and cause serious delays in schedules

• Regularly interacts with Sr. Management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas. Exercises judgment and exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the program. Represents the department in relevant internal / external committees.

• Collaborations: Manages the program interactions and deliverables between Regeneron and our corporate partners (where applicable), including the coordination of activities for writing and negotiating development plans and status reports, data summaries or presentations for joint collaboration meetings, budget approvals, etc.

• Process Improvement: As part of the larger Development Program Management organization and within the immuno-oncology/oncology area, identifies opportunities for standardization of processes and working / best practices and recommends a plan for implementation.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• Advanced degree in life sciences or business preferred or Bachelor's degree with relevant work experience

• 8-10 years of relevant experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry including 5+ years of program management

• Proven track record of coordinating across multiple teams and driving action and accountability and facilitate conflict resolution

• Knowledge and proven application of project management best practices

• Experience working on programs that bridge product development and commercialization

• Business and financial acumen

Encourages constructive interactions among team members to help address and resolve conflicts or problems with tact, diplomacy and composure. Handles multiple projects and priorities with exceptional organizational and time management skills (both project and self)

• Proficient in advanced techniques with relevant software: MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. in addition to experience working within shared work environments.
