Amgen is seeing a Senior Associate - Portfolio Management to join the Office of the CIO (OCIO). This role is responsible for coordinating the IS project funding approvals in accordance with the Investment Lifecycle Management (ILM) process. In addition, this role will assist with management of the overall Information Systems (IS) project portfolio, including alignment with IS Strategy, annual budget planning, quarterly forecasting, and tracking of project health.

The Senior Associate- Portfolio Management will report to the Senior Manager Portfolio Management and will work out of Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. This state-of-the-art center serves as a base for finance, information systems, and human resources professionals to make a meaningful impact at one of the world's leading biotechnology companies.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Coordinate Weekly and ILM Vice President Peer Review (VPPR) funding meetings where project teams seek business case and funding release approval
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers to gain line of sight for both new upcoming, prospective projects as well as already approved projects that may be at risk
  • Responsible for the preparation of metrics and standard reporting related to the Project Portfolio
  • Maintain the IS ILM SharePoint site, which contains all IS ILM templates, training documentation, and approved ILM project document artifacts
  • Participate in team meetings and key communications in line with established processes; identifies and implements process improvements

    Basic Qualifications:

    Master's degree

    Or

    Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Project Management, Information Systems, or Finance experience

    Or

    Associate's degree and 6 years of Project Management, Information Systems, or Finance experience

    Or

    High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Project Management, Information Systems, or Finance experience

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in portfolio and project management and financial / cost management
  • Highly motivated, collaborative, works effectively under minimal supervision and places priority on the successful completion of team goals
  • Works successfully in complex and ambiguous scenarios, thinks strategically, collects, digests and assembles information to enable meaningful business analyses and decision-making
  • Possesses strong learning agility and technical leadership - ability to breakdown complex topics issues and into actionable plans for team execution
  • Outstanding communication. attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical and presentation skills
  • Successfully balances contending priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, staff and vendors
  • Working knowledge of ITIL methodologies and systems including ServiceNow
