Job Details

Company Description

Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the interface of chemistry, engineering and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon’s discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders who pioneered the field of single-molecule live cell imaging (Nobel Prize, 2014).

We are building a passionate and creative team eager to apply their talents to empower interdisciplinary scientific exploration, inaugurate a radical drug-discovery paradigm and ultimately create novel medicines.

Position

As the first Senior Research Associate at Eikon, you will join an interdisciplinary founding team of highly creative and talented individuals with outstanding expertise in the Company’s core platform technologies.  You’ll be responsible for collaborating with scientists to develop and run screening assays for Eikon’s live-cell, high-throughput single-molecule platform as well as other critical pathway and functional assays. You’ll have a key role in pioneering these assays and will interface with a team of biologists, chemists, computer scientists, and microscope engineers who rely on the assays you build.

 About you:

  • You’re a rigorous experimentalist who takes pride in your ability to execute at the bench.
  • You’re collaborative by nature and are happy to jump in and help.
  • You’re conscientious and pay almost obsessive attention to detail - documentation and organization are second nature.
  • You’re curious, love learning and are not intimidated by hard problems.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy pushing the edge of what is possible.
  • You’re resourceful and like to work independently, but are not shy to ask for advice.

What you’ll do:

  • Work with scientists to “industrialize” the single particle tracking assay and deploy it across multiple drug discovery efforts.
  • Build out key pathway and functional assays tailored to each of our discovery programs.
  • Collaborate and communicate across a diverse research team to successfully progress scientific goals.
  • Keep detailed and organized records of experimental protocols and results.
  • Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously and manage diverse team interactions.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field with 4+ years of hands on experience developing cell-based assays in an industrial setting.
  • The ability to independently design, optimize, miniaturize and implement high throughput quantitative cell-based assays.
  • Experience with high-content imaging platforms, automated liquid dispensing platforms, quantitative PCR, immunocytochemistry and functional assays.
  • Capacity for quantitative analysis with computational biology experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a drug-discovery setting is preferred.
  • Keen analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and build open collaborative relationships is essential.

For immediate consideration, please submit your cover letter and resume here.

Eikon is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and will consider all qualified applicants for employment.
