The Opportunity:
As a key member of our dynamic pharmacology team, you will:
Independently design, conduct, and manage in vivo and ex vivo experiments including efficacy and PKPD in rodent
models of human cancer.
Perform standard tissue and blood collections and process for pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic assays.
Perform minor surgical procedures such as intubations, implantation of devices, orthotopic implants, blood and tissue
collection.
Carry out in vivo operations and animal procurement, formulations, animal health surveillance, and husbandry duties.
Provide monitoring and care for study animals; maintaining records on animals required by protocol guidelines.
Uphold federal laboratory animal welfare standards in an AAALAC accredited facility.
Make detailed observations, record, and analyze data. Troubleshoot experiments and suggesting improvements.
Independently execute assigned tasks following appropriate laboratory/technical procedures with minimal
supervision.
Evaluate and clearly report experimental results to manager and colleagues on a routine basis with special attention
to data quality and reproducibility. Present at internal meetings and prepare written reports of executed studies.
Work in close collaboration with cell biology colleagues and assisting with development of translational models.
Develop high-quality protocols and outputs, and maintain detailed documentation of procedures and data to comply
with internal standard operating procedures and other quality criteria, where necessary.
Weekend/PM and holiday shift may be required.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
BA/BS or M.S degree in biology or animal sciences with up to 5 years’ experience preferred at the RA II level, and up
to 7 years’ experience preferred at the SRA level, working in a laboratory research environment in either industry or
academia with emphasis on in vivo procedures.
Small molecule pharmacology experience highly preferred.
Experience with oncology models including immuno-oncology models.
Broad practical experience and knowledge in common in vivo procedures, cell biology laboratory procedures (cell
culture). Expertise with oral gavage, IV, intratracheal, intranasal, intramuscular intraperitoneal dosing.
Strong track record of research productivity and demonstrated knowledge of the scientific literature.
Experience with StudyLog, GraphPad Prism, Microsoft office.
Experience with small animal imaging a plus.
Basic molecular biology understanding and skills highly desired.
Ability to keep good records, excellent attention to detail and data entry, experience with databases.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, able to meet project deadlines, and work efficiently in a fluid environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently are required for this position.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Collaborative and able to work with multidisciplinary project and departmental teams.
