Amgen is seeking Specialist Intelligent Automation Architect who will work on our Enterprise Platforms team reporting to Sr. Manager Information Systems. This key role will work out of Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. At Amgen, our mission is simple: to serve patients. We are looking for a catalyst to Intelligent Automation Product team that helps automate business processes.

This role understands the automation requirements and produces, tests, and implement automations mentoring developers. We are looking for candidates that have an ambitious spirit, excellent problem-solving skills, and deep technical capabilities in process automation. We are looking for a leader who can help drive IT operations and support of key platforms in AID (Automation, Integration, Development) and Global Contracts and pricing system (GCPS). We are looking for someone who will serve as the primary interface between our team and clients across Amgen

  • Ensures alignment of business and technology requirements
  • Responsible for the Re-Usable Object Library
  • Outline design documents (i.e. Technical Design Document) in support of development efforts.
  • Contribute to the development of procedures to continually improve delivery of automations
  • Conduct code reviews with peers to ensure each increment adheres to original version as designed in the user story and adheres to the highest quality standards.
  • Mentor Automation Developers, Testers and Service manager on RPA Concepts/Design patterns
  • Identify areas of improvement on code quality, code reusability, development methodologies, and other technical fields and drive them to implementation
  • Advise, configure, size and provision RPA infrastructure to meet functional and non-functional requirement.
  • Leads all aspects of the design, scoping, implementation and testing in short agile release cycles of in-house development and vendor implementations end-to-end.
  • Participates in development, promotion and utilization of Intelligent Automation best practices
  • Continuously learns and stays informed on emerging automation technologies and provides recommendations to Intelligent Automation Product Team

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree


Master's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience


Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience


Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Automation Anywhere accreditation (or other equivalent RPA industry leading platform accreditation)
  • RPA framework experience and/or experience with building and retiring RPA are a big plus.
  • Proficiency with leading automation software platforms (e.g., Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, UiPath)
  • Scripting languages (e.g., python, perl, powershell, bash, vbs, etc.)
  • Knowledge of SQLite, MySQL or similar database management system
  • Experience on web service integration (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML)
  • Basic Knowledge of Cloud Based platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Google
  • Knowledge of chat bots, OCR technologies is a huge plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to investigate and identify the source of an error
  • Superb Communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Security protocols that impacts design considerations
