AbbVie Legal's attorneys, paralegals and other professionals provide legal support for AbbVie's global businesses, including headquarters functions, R&D, Operations, and Commercial. We have an enriching opportunity for an Administrative Legal Assistant III based in North Chicago, IL in Legal's Litigation, Compliance & Regulatory group. This position will primarily support the Litigation function, which handles a broad range of matters including Antitrust, Employment, General Liability, Government Investigations, Product Liability, and Shareholder litigation.

- Provides general administrative support to the attorneys and paralegals in AbbVie Legal's Litigation, Compliance & Regulatory group, as assigned, including answering phones, printing and/or copying documents, managing calendars, managing correspondence, meeting/event planning, and handling teleconference set ups. May provide back up support to the department Vice President as needed.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Follows purchasing and requisition procedures, Corporate Security and Privacy Rules, Corporate Branding Guidelines, and Copy Center procedures (if applicable).
- Coordinates and maintains departmental files, as assigned, including opening new matters in the matter management system (e.g., eCounsel) and/or filing records in the document management system (e.g., iManage).
- Assists paralegals and/or legal assistants with special projects, including bates labeling, redacting, and indexing business documents and data/document collection and organization to fulfill discovery obligations.
- Uses basic to intermediate software skills to perform work assigned.
- Uses and understands Microsoft Office Suite and other business-specific software, including the Corporate Travel Web site.
- Coordinates new employee office set-ups and onboarding.
- May train/coordinate work for new administrative assistants.
- May include some support for tracking budgets and running reports.
Basic:
- High School diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
- 1+ years previous admin experience or equivalent. Law firm or legal department experience preferred.
- General knowledge of legal terminology desired.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of business processes and requirements.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and litigation case management software (e.g., iManage or eCounsel, or similar systems).
- Strong communication, writing, and analytical skills.
