Global Commercial Information Systems is looking for a Senior Manager, Information Systems to partner with Amgen's Global Commercial Functions to drive technology strategy and delivery. The Senior Manager will be the Global Commercial Functions Technical Product Manager and is responsible for owning the technology portfolio and maximizing solution value across associated business outcomes. Global Commercial Functions includes outcomes that transcend regions, such as Global Value & Access, Global Commercial Insights and Global Forecasting. This person will work directly with business stakeholders, vendors, platform product owners and agile delivery team(s) to define and deliver value-based business outcomes across solutions that align to Amgen's Information Systems Strategy. The Technical Product Manager represents the voice of the customer and is accountable for ensuring that the roadmap and delivery represents business strategy, IS Strategy and that the technology team delivers value. This role is highly collaborative and the ideal candidate will have an understanding and experience with pharma/biotech commercial business processes and common tools that support them, data and analytics, project management and agile methodologies. Responsibilities:
  • Build relationships and consistently collaborate with business partners to define technology strategy, identify and evaluate opportunities, resolve issues, and ensure the roadmap aligns with business strategy and priorities
  • Manage the technology portfolio and demand backlog associated with assigned business partners. Ensure legacy solutions are stable and maintain compliance.
  • Bring awareness of new technologies, products, and market trends to business stakeholders and incorporate in the capability and technology roadmaps, as applicable.
  • Align to business outcomes and across global platform teams to develop Portfolio Epics that create new or influence existing product roadmap(s). Represent Epics through the full lifecycle of definition, funding, product team resourcing, MVPs and backlog prioritization.
  • Define and compile business cases and represent agile investments during the internal funding processes
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture, Global Platform teams and Regional Commercial IS teams to represent Global Commercial Functions, the associated demand, and to identify cross-functional efficiencies
  • Actively engage with the delivery team to manage product backlogs, negotiate and commit to product requirements & priorities
  • Lead key strategic supplier relationships from both product and services side, as needed
  • Be a problem solver by identifying innovative solutions that meet business requirements while driving efficiency and the ability to scale
  • Play an active role in the success of the Commercial Information System team's transformation to an Agile Product Delivery Model and legacy system transformation towards IS Strategy principles


Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience
OR

Master's degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience
OR

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience
OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience
OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience AND 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of client-facing experience. Experience owning business relationships, roadmaps and influencing technology decisions.
  • 3+ years of pharma/biotech experience. Experience with commercial business processes and global markets a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience with databases, visualizations and data-driven solution development
  • Demonstrated experienced using an Agile methodology
  • Experience building advocacy, business cases and defining and driving outcomes-based technology roadmaps
  • Ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity, drive big picture goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Ability to translate strategies into tangible pragmatic executable plans
  • Organizational change management and stakeholder management skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a broad range of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
  • Creative thinker with vision
  • Agile Product Owner certification is a plus
  • People Management experience is a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce, AWS, Veeva and/or Anaplan is a plus
