Our Integrated Data and Analytics (iDNA) team is seeking a Senior Associate Business Systems Analyst who will be focused on US data and help provide state of art data solutions to our business. The position is based in Amgen's main headquarters at Thousand Oaks, CA. You will be part of Global Commercial Operations (GCOIS) division and help advance Amgen's reporting and analytics services via the iDNA's data solutions. This position is responsible for partnering with various commercial areas (such as sales, marketing, data science) to ensure data, reporting and analytics continues to serve as a key component to enabling Amgen to understand our customers, our products, our business and the dynamics of the landscape we compete in day in and day out.

Responsibilities
  • Direct day-to-day tactical execution on reporting improvements
  • Actively engage with reporting partners to analyze business needs, gather/refine requirements and recommend technical design/solutions
  • Coordinate US Commercial VISION reporting web platform and Tableau
  • Help coordinate vendors and contractors providing guidance as necessary to ensure delivery of commitments
  • Build expertise in the wide set of technologies required to execute a Data and Analytics Services including AWS (S3, EC2), High Performant Databases (AWS Redshift), Data Integration (Spark, Databricks), Orchestration (Airflow, Jenkins), and reporting platforms (Tableau)
  • Help in code/design review while following sprint cadence. Handle the backlog of requirements/user stories
  • Work in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and contribute towards making the process more efficient
  • Works closely in a client facing role with a team of IS, data scientist/engineers and analysts to identify business problems, provide data-driven solutions


Basic Qualifications

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associate's degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma/GED and 8 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills are important. Comfortable with working with large sets of data to derive insights
  • Understanding of SQL and hands-on experience retrieving data using complex SQL queries
  • Understanding of the latest reporting technologies (in particular Tableau)
  • Basic understanding of AWS technologies (S3, EC2, Integration tools, Hadoop, Redshift, Spectrum)
  • Exposure to at least one scripting language like Python and repository/versioning tools such as GitHub
  • Passion for innovation, data and "can do" attitude
  • Working knowledge of Agile (Scrum) software development methodologies
  • Healthcare Industry experience
