Job Details

The Revenue & Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for monitoring and recording revenue, revenue related and inventory data as well as preparing internal and external supporting reports. Working closely with the manufacturing and commercial teams, you'll account for development costs of drug candidate products and account for inventory costs. Additionally, you'll work on revenue management and costs accounting projects.

Who is Omeros?

The company's drug product OMIDRIA ® (phenylephrine and ketorolac intraocular solution) 1% / 0.3% is marketed in the U.S. for use during cataract surgery or intraocular lens (IOL) replacement to maintain pupil size by preventing intraoperative miosis (pupil constriction) and to reduce postoperative ocular pain. In the European Union, the European Commission has approved OMIDRIA for use in cataract surgery and other IOL replacement procedures to maintain mydriasis (pupil dilation), prevent miosis (pupil constriction), and to reduce postoperative eye pain.

Omeros has multiple Phase 3 and Phase 2 clinical-stage development programs focused on: complement-associated thrombotic microangiopathies; complement-mediated glomerulonephropathies; Huntington's disease and cognitive impairment; and addictive and compulsive disorders. In addition, Omeros has a diverse group of preclinical programs and a proprietary G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) platform through which it controls 54 new GPCR drug targets and corresponding compounds, a number of which are in preclinical development. The company also exclusively possesses a novel antibody-generating platform

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required:

  • Monitors revenue, revenue related and inventory data and prepares internal reports
  • Records all revenue, gross-to-net and other revenue related journal entries while preparing supporting internal and external reports
  • As it relates to drug candidates, works closely with the manufacturing team to account for development costs of drug candidate products and prepares related accruals
  • As it relates to commercial products, works closely with manufacturing and commercial teams to account for inventory costs
  • Prepares cost accounting records, project cost including indirect costs and overhead, and compare the actual cost to the estimates
  • Is a critical member of implementation team in charge of deploying new inventory and manufacturing modules to be added to Oracle
  • Works on revenue management and costs accounting projects as requested (e.g. implementing formal month end and contribution margin analysis)
  • Assists with implementation of new or amended revenue accounting standards and provides ongoing guidance to the business on revenue recognition issues
  • Builds and maintains relationships with Commercial, Legal, Finance business partners, and Manufacturing
  • Assists with preparation of quarterly audit schedules and prepares periodic revenue reports to support internal and external reporting requirements
  • Implements and documents processes and procedures as required including Sarbanes Oxley compliance
  • Supports and participates on revenue related projects including new partnerships and or collaborations
Experience and Education Required:
  • Requires a B. S. Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or equivalent accounting certification is strongly preferred
  • 7-10+ years of revenue accounting and related experience, preferably in a biopharmaceutical company
  • Experienced with enterprise reporting systems is helpful; Oracle experience preferred
  • Experienced with the implementation of inventory and manufacturing systems
  • Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
  • Has a solid understanding of commercial spend strategy, customer profiles, commercial channels, and manufacturing process
  • Familiarity with new Revenue standards ASC 606 helpful
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks, establish appropriate priorities and meet deadlines
  • "Self-starter" with outstanding analytical, quantitative, communication, and technical skills and a can-do attitude
  • Strong understanding of public company financial reporting requirements
  • Possesses confidence, good judgment, energy, and personality to work in a dynamic multi-country organization
