General Position Summary/Purpose:

The Associate Director, Payer Marketing will be responsible for supporting short and long-term payer, channel & trade strategies, programs and tactics associated with the marketing and reimbursement of IMBRUVICA in the US. This individual will be responsible for creating, managing, and supporting cross functional efforts around marketing strategies, programs and tactics associated with market access in the US. This individual will report directly to the Director of Market Access and will work closely with several departments including but not limited to US Market Access team, Marketing, Market Research, Sales, Regulatory, Legal, Medical Affairs and external customers.

Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and/or assist in execution of marketing strategies and the development of programs and tactics to attain strategic objectives associated with targeted payer segments and trade accounts
  • Lead, coordinate and manage all Access-related activities that will help ensure success
  • Coordinate and/or assist in planning and development of reimbursement content for key payer, channel, trade accounts, and other external customers
  • Support channel strategy and lead pull-through within channels
  • Partner with brand Marketing, Market Access, Sales, Regulatory, Market Research, Legal, Medical Affairs and Medical Affairs HEOR
  • Coordinate and successfully manage key vendors and agencies to ensure project success
  • Manage program budgets
  • Develop and assess metrics to ensure successful program implementation and operation
  • Help to guide and shape brand strategic decisions through research and experience
  • Assist in the content development and meeting execution of payer & trade advisory boards
  • Demonstrate company values on a consistent basis. Acts, and is accountable to act, in compliance with all laws, regulations and policies


Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent; Scientific degree, MBA or other advanced degree is a plus
  • At least 5 - 10 years of working in the pharma/biotech space
  • Experience working in Oncology reimbursement or marketing is preferred
  • Successful track record in pharmaceutical marketing, reimbursement, trade, payer, HUB services and/or sales with relevant experience and increasing job responsibilities.
  • Evidence of strong analytical skills, project planning and organizational skills required
  • Candidates must possess the ability to proactively analyze business problems, identify key issues, develop solutions, implement tactical programs, and design metrics to measure business impact
  • Proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally to drive business results in a heavily matrixed, fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, leadership and ability to drive influence across stakeholders to set direction, align work efforts, and ensure outstanding execution
  • Experience working closely with field organizations to implement marketing programs with measurable business impact
  • Outstanding project management skills and experience managing multiple vendors, marketing partners and agency partners
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory environment in pharmaceutical promotions, pharma industry guidelines, and other compliance-related issues
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time
