Job Details

Amgen is seeking a computational scientist with expertise in computational protein modeling, engineering and design to join Amgen Research at our campus in Thousand Oaks, CA. The Scientist will be part of multidisciplinary teams that seek to advance our biologics drug discovery programs, spanning multiple modalities including therapeutic proteins, antibodies and various bispecific and conjugate molecules. Primary responsibilities of the Scientist include protein structure analysis and modeling, biophysical property prediction, protein-protein interaction analysis and prediction and protein design.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree (or completed by Dec 2019)

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of Computational Chemistry experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of Computational Chemistry experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD. in computational biophysics or related field.
  • Strong track record of research accomplishments with three or more scientific publications and/or conference presentations in computational protein modeling and design.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability and enthusiasm to work in cross-functional and interdisciplinary team environments.
  • Experience in antibody modeling and engineering.
  • Experience with one or more protein modeling software packages (such as MOE, Schrodinger, Rosetta).
  • Experience in computer programming or scripting.
