We are seeking a motivated and creative Scientist to join our team to support CAR discovery and screening efforts. The successful candidate will have a strong record of accomplishments and will be expected to work in a collaborative cross-functional team environment, designing and performing experiments; organizing and analyzing results; and communicating and presenting findings in team meetings and written reports.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Design and oversee in vitro functional assays of human T cells
  • Work with automation team to increase throughput of in vitro assays
  • Work with molecular biology team to design novel gene constructs
  • Work with immunologists to develop novel assays
  • Culture and engineer mammalian cells
  • Perform, monitor, and analyze cell-based assays, cytokine studies, flow cytometry, PCR-based assays
  • Effectively communicate plans and results in both oral and written form
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic, collaborative team environment
  • Coordination of tasks across multiple projects, demonstrating prioritization and planning
  • Interpret and effectively execute experiments in line with project timelines and goals


Requirements:
  • PhD Degree in Immunology/Cell Biology/Synthetic Biology/Protein Engineering or related field required
  • 0-2+ years industry experience preferred
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and sterile technique
  • Experience with flow cytometry and plate-based experiments, including ELISAs
  • Experience with protein library design and screening preferred, but not required
  • Experience with retroviral and/or lentiviral transgene delivery preferred
  • Familiarity with T cell phenotyping, cytotoxicity assays, proliferation, and cytokine/chemokine measurements preferred
  • Self-motivated and willing to accept responsibilities outside of initial job description
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced company and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills and record keeping
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
