Specific work elements A critical success factor will be to create access for Omeros products by understanding potential barriers and addressing issues which lead to positive work solutions that support our market access efforts and ultimately the prescribers and patients. You will need to build effective relationships with the ophthalmology and transplant communities and understand how to navigate the various advocacy population decision makers and healthcare systems. He/she will demonstrate a strong work ethic, possess leadership abilities and act with a sense of urgency.
This position will work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations and Medical Affairs and ensure timely information is shared. This role involves being an expert in the healthcare/reimbursement/policy landscape, knowing and developing relationships with relevant Advocacy Groups and being up to speed on the latest industry trends and news.

Who is Omeros?
Omeros is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to discovering, developing and commercializing small-molecule and protein therapeutics for large-market as well as orphan indications targeting inflammation, complement-mediated diseases and disorders of the central nervous system.
The company's drug product OMIDRIA ® (phenylephrine and ketorolac intraocular solution) 1% / 0.3% is marketed in the U.S. for use during cataract surgery or intraocular lens (IOL) replacement to maintain pupil size by preventing intraoperative miosis (pupil constriction) and to reduce postoperative ocular pain. In the European Union, the European Commission has approved OMIDRIA for use in cataract surgery and other IOL replacement procedures to maintain mydriasis (pupil dilation), prevent miosis (pupil constriction), and to reduce postoperative eye pain.
Omeros has multiple Phase 3 and Phase 2 clinical-stage development programs focused on: complement-associated thrombotic microangiopathies; complement-mediated glomerulonephropathies; Huntington's disease and cognitive impairment; and addictive and compulsive disorders. In addition, Omeros has a diverse group of preclinical programs and a proprietary G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) platform through which it controls 54 new GPCR drug targets and corresponding compounds, a number of which are in preclinical development. The company also exclusively possesses a novel antibody-generating platform.
What are your job responsibilities?
Your responsibilities in this position will include:
- Internal owner, responsible for development and leadership alignment on product value stories across Omeros marketed and pipeline portfolio
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including patient advocacy entities to ensure clinical education and targeted access for reimbursement of Omeros products
- Develop and run through promotional approval committee all customer facing materials relating to communication of value and access messaging across Omeros field staff.
- Successfully convey clinical, economic and patient value of Omeros products to key external stakeholders
- Proactively work with field teams to address challenges and issues with accounts; bring together the necessary help/resources to correct the problem
- Operate within corporate guidelines on policies and compliance rules
- Forward thinking on innovative market access professional
- Meets all timelines and requirements for administrative assignments and necessary reporting functions
- Participates, as appropriate, in company meetings, conference calls and other business settings
- Bachelor's degree required; a higher degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in commercial pharmaceutical functions
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in market access and advocacy/policy
- Understanding of Medicare Administrators with existing relationships is preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Demonstrates strong communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills with both internal and external customers that results in positive outcomes
- Strong analytical skills
- Bachelor's degree required; a higher degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in commercial pharmaceutical functions
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in market access and advocacy/policy
