We are seeking a Specialist IS Architect - Data Analytics in Thousand Oaks, CA or Amgen Capability Center (ACC) in Tampa, FL to join our Patient Safety IS team. This role is responsible for transformation of our business intelligence (BI)capabilities and developing innovative analytics solutions to help drive strategic business outcomes. The successful candidate will be part of the Patient Safety Analytics product team and responsible for client delivery, architect complex solutions, and facilitating the development process.   • Partner with clients and technical teams to deliver on strategic analytics and reporting initiatives
  • Develop and socialize business analytics strategy, roadmap and architecture
  • Establish standard methodologies for BI solutions
  • Responsible for data modeling, discovering insights and opportunities using various data mining tools and techniques
  • Must have good communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical and presentation skills
  • Develop requirements and design artifacts including architectural components
  • Advanced SQL Skills preferred to identify data patterns and knowledge of performance tuning
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical problems
  • Work closely with the enterprise architects and platform teams to ensure that the applications are aligned with the overall architectural and development guidelines.
  • Keep up to date on market trends and developments in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and related new technologies to provide recommendations and deliver standard methodology solutions.
  • Responsible for integrating safety data with enterprise data lakes
  • Mentor or provide technical training to new team members
  • Must be able to think and act strategically, and operationalize the solutions

Basic Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree
  • OR
  • Master's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience
  • OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience
  • OR
  • Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience
  • OR
  • High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience with working with validated systems (e.g. GxP)
  • Experience with MuleSoft integrations and Extract Transform Load (ETL tools) as Informatica platform, and Databricks,
  • Experience with leading large end-to end solutions on Cloud (preferably AWS), data modeling from conceptual to physical design, Online Transaction Processing (OLTP), data warehousing, master data management, and advanced understanding of analytics and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Spotfire, etc.).
  • Ability to perform with minimal support/supervision
  • Experienced with leading agile development methodologies (e.g. sprint and scrum)
  • Experience in pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry with focus on data analysis & reporting will be a plus.
  • High learning agility
