Amgen is seeking an Associate IS Software Engineer to join the multi-site Research & Medical Informatics (RMI) organization. The Research Informatics team supports Research teams globally with innovative IS and Data Science solutions to accelerate and grow Amgen's pipeline of biopharmaceuticals. Our success in informatics is driven by our commitment to the IS Vision -

Responsibilities:
  • Support the RMI technology portfolio through software engineering contributions for research that will aid in uncovering new and deeper insights for the discovery of novel therapeutics.
  • Evaluate and utilize cutting-edge technologies in the industry to meet scientific business needs
  • Working on the development of integrations and APIs using enterprise integration patterns and frameworks
  • Collaborate with the other engineering team members to ensure all services are reliable, maintainable, and well-integrated into existing platforms
  • Adhere to standard methodologies for testing and designing reusable code
  • Collaborate with internal and external vendors to ensure optimal delivery of the build and run services
  • Review functional and technical designs to identify areas of risk and/or missing requirements
  • Provide technical write-ups and drawings to promote the proposed solutions


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

OR

Associate degree plus 4 years of Information Systems experience

Or

High School / GED plus 6 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of or experience in Life, Physical or Computational Sciences.
  • Experience in Java programming, Java-Micro Services, Spring Boot
  • Experience in AngularJS/React, CSS3, HTML5, Responsive web Design
  • Proficient with SOA, Rest Services and Spring, Spring Batch, Spring boot
  • Understanding of agile methodology & DevOps (Jenkins, Docker, JIRA, Github) frameworks
  • Familiar with data analysis and reporting experience by using analytics, visualization and database technologies (Oracle, PL SQL, Spotfire, Tableau, Python - NumPy, SciPy, Pandas)
  • Good learning agility, ability to pick up new technologies used to support early drug discovery data analysis needs.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and technical expertise to be able to communicate effectively with business and technology partners.
