The Principal IS Informatics Analyst role will be dedicated to supporting the Center for Design & Analysis (CfDA) mission. CfDA aims to catalyze the adoption of innovation, increase the influence of our statisticians on program and study designs, and to enable efficient and effective decision making. CfDA also aims to build a robust trial simulation and advanced data analytics capabilities to support data and model-informed drug development. The Principal Analyst will work closely with the Data Science team within CfDA and partner with the Design & Innovation team to implement and advance the integrated data platforms, analytics, and AI (machine learning, NLP) capabilities required for enabling innovative clinical trial designs. This includes leading the clinical data lake team, which is responsible for providing an integrated platform for Randomized Clinical Trials and Competitive Intelligence data. Development IS team focuses on implementing and supporting innovative and GxP regulated systems and platforms for clinical trial design and execution, real world evidence generation & observational research, regulatory filings and pharmacovigilance.

Role Responsibilities:
  • You will develop a deep understanding of clinical trial design and new innovative approaches of leveraging real world evidence, adaptive trial design, and statistical modeling and analysis
  • Lead requirements and design in close collaboration with CfDA, CfOR, and Global Development Organization (GDO) business and IS teams
  • Lead multi-functional teams comprising of FTEs in DevIS and EEA (Enterprise Engineering and Analytics) and external expert partners to implement data platforms, data integrations, modeling and analytics tools using latest technologies and leveraging the enterprise city planning platforms, such as the Enterprise Data Lake, Enterprise Data Fabric, Data Science Workbench, and machine learning platforms
  • Ensure sound architecture and design, provide technical oversight and guidance to the team
  • Ensure solutions are implemented in accordance to the IS SOPs and IS Security policies
  • Participate in CfDA business process improvement initiatives, data architecture and programming multidisciplinary project team meetings and serve as a technical adviser
  • Help develop and advance data science and AI capabilities and skill-set within Development IS


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Master's degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8+ years leading technical / analytics application development projects
  • Extensive software, database and / or analytical tool development experience
  • Experience with cloud technologies and big data platforms such as Apache Spark/Databricks
  • Experience with statistical languages such as R/SAS
  • Working knowledge of data modeling, machine learning
  • Working knowledge of one or more relevant industry data standards (e.g., CDISC SDTM,
  • CDISC ADaM, HL7 BRIDG, OMOP)
  • Experience in leveraging data and analytics to inform clinical trial design
  • Experience working in a regulated environment
  • Strong communication, collaboration, teamwork, and negotiation skills
