The IS Source to Pay(S2P) Solution Architect will be responsible for the overall end to end global template for the Source to Pay process area. This role will actively lead the collaboration and engagement with IS and Business partners in delivering standard methodology solutions based on business & industry standards and drive the S2P solution roadmap within Amgen.

The IS S2P Solution Architect will report to Senior Manager, Global Source to Pay (S2P) systems. This role will assume leadership over and global template responsibilities across complete end to end S2P landscape and provide SME to strategic initiatives. The role will be responsible in defining, developing & enabling the Source to Pay business systems capabilities. The individual will work closely with business process leads, end-users, vendors, Amgen partners and help development teams in system design, development & testing in all aspects of the Source to Pay (S2P) solutions.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Defines and leads the Global Source to Pay(S2P) template and ensures its continued governance and evolution
  • The guardian of the global S2P technologies solution architecture ecosystem including SAP solution such as SAP Ariba, SAP ERP and/or S/4HANA, and other satellite solutions such as CRIS, Maximo, etc.
  • Interact with business users, vendors & partners to understand & document business requirements, architect solution/data integration flows, security or compliance requirements
  • Provides consultation to application owners and business partners regarding short and long-term architecture solutions considering IS strategy in meeting business requirements
  • Recommends solutions and develops business case alternatives which anticipate the future direction of the business, its drivers and S2P strategy
  • Actively facilitates complex design and technical discussions, balancing differing opinions and drives decision-making process
  • Leads and supports the translation of business process, master data and standard methodologies into estimation of work and executable design
  • Provide Solution Governance oversight for Build teams during Assessment, Design and Delivery of improvements, projects and data as well as process changes
  • Deliver and continuously improve the solution architecture service while inspiring change across the IS function with the continued engagement of key Business partners and opinion leaders.
  • Supports and Maintains the long-term strategic roadmap for S2P platform
  • Aligns with IS strategy and planning with the company's business goals and objectives
  • Seamlessly integrates business and service strategy into enterprise architecture roadmap
  • Leads the design and modeling of tactical architectures for delivery, development, and support of projects
  • Coordinates workshops and proof-of-concepts in solutions to illustrate solution designs and build adoption through business process owners and other domain experts
  • Ensures solutions developed across functions are aligned to enterprise architecture standards, guidelines and principles by using common technology platforms and services
  • Leads the improvements and innovation in the S2P space and be a quick leaner able to handle challenging priorities
  • Supports creation of business architecture data models for reporting demonstrating how products, operations and systems interoperate within the organization
    Basic Qualifications

    Doctorate degree

    OR

    Master's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

    OR

    Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience

    OR

    Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

    Or

    High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of techno-functional lead level experience with Source to Pay technologies
  • Hands-on experience in architecting and integrating all aspects of Source to Pay (STP) solutions for global deployments and must have SAP ECC experience
  • Good understanding of business solution capabilities such as Ariba, Coupa in the areas of Source to Contract, Supplier Management, Requisition to Pay, Spend Analytics, Meetings Management, Cards, and Travel & Expense
  • Strong Knowledge on-demand solutions and hands-on experience in configuring the following areas but not limited to SAP solutions:
  • SAP Ariba Sourcing
  • SAP Ariba Contracts Management
  • SAP Ariba Spend Visibility
  • SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance Management
  • SAP Ariba Requisition to Pay
  • SAP ERP and/or S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement
  • Ariba Network
  • Experience in business process re-engineering, Tax Integration Tools (i.e. OneSource) and S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement transformations
  • Experience in SAP Field Glass, Concur, Cvent, Maximo is preferr
  • Working knowledge of reporting solutions such as Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), Data lake, and frontend tools (i.e. BOBJ, Cognos, Tableau) would be a plus
  • Solid understanding of business complexity and project interdependencies
  • Ability to create compelling business cases balancing business benefits and costs
  • Experience working with software systems validation, SOX, Information Privacy, FDA cGxP controlled environment and 21 CFR Part 11 regulations
  • Ability to work in fast paced global environment with matrixed IS and business teams serving North America, Europe, JAPAC and Intercontinental regions
  • Strong leadership/consultative, collaboration, project management, service delivery and process improvement skills to facilitate alignment across multiple global geographies
  • Ability to demonstrate his/her experience in delivering and supporting global information systems in a diverse and distributed user base while relying on a number of enterprise shared services
  • Strong organizational skills and understanding of the project management lifecycle, information risk and security guidelines and architecture standards
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and willing to take principled bets on new technology, ability to establish, implement, and make sure appropriate IS standards to meet business requirements
  • Ability to translate business requirements into design options that are cost effective, efficient, re-usable that align with defined architectural principles and standards and that enhance the business process
  • Ability to understand business strategy needs and support the translation into application requirements
  • Strong service management mindset in delivering excellent services against business solution capabilities
  • Ability to develop clear and detailed business requirements and design specifications that can be understood by other delivery teams and business partners
  • Good attention to detail and be self-directed. Ability to drive consensus among Process owners, End-users, & vendors
  • Great teammate able to work efficiently and effectively as well as able to communicate to management within the organization
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills
