The Oracle Applications DBA will serve as a key role in the management, stability and performance for the Oracle ERP solution. As the manager of this space you will lead the effort to manage and keep the Oracle ERP system running optimally with system stability, performance and compliance in mind.
In this role you will be responsible for managing a Managed Services Provider that will provide DBA services for Oracle eBS. You will be collaborating with the Solutions Architect to explore and implement solutions to replatform/reachitect the Oracle ERP solution based on organization needs.

  • • Responsible for day to day performance of the Oracle ERP solution consisting of Oracle eBS (12.2.x) running on Solaris platform. The Oracle ERP solutions comprises modules for Finance, Procurement, Human Resources, Payroll, Time and Labor, Supply Chain, Process Manufacturing amongst other modules, interfaces to several satellite systems and other third party solutions such as Markview, KBACE, PAS-X MES for Manufacturing Operations.
  • • Ownership of entire Oracle R12 technology stack including Oracle iAS, Web logic, Oracle SOA, SSO, Forms/Reports, Workflow
  • • Single point of contact for tools in support of Oracle ERP such as Panaya, STAT, Testing solutions
  • • System Administrator for STAT, Markview (techonology components)
  • • Responsible for code migrations performed in controlled Oracle eBS environments
  • • Responsible for continuous improvement in tightening standards to ensure segregation of duties between developer and DBAs
  • • Identify, define and implement solutions to ensure tight data security controls for Oracle eBS including inbound/outbound interfaces; support day to day activities of developers (ssh/pgp)
  • • Ensures business continuity by maintaining, testing and enhancing high availablity database systems and Disaster Recovery plans and procedures
  • • Drives continuous database improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, availability, and productivity of the Oracle ERP platform
  • • Production Support and/or upgrade to current version of R12 environment, Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Data Guard/Active Data Guard
  • • Provide support to the development team to tune and optimize database queries and processes to use the latest features of the database/applications.
  • • Work with the development team to re-architect customizations to make them run more efficiently
  • • Work with the IT QA team to process GxP controls. Responsible for Managed Services Provider following GxP processes defined by Regeneron that are applicable to the DBA team.
  • • Ensures all tasks are performed per approved standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • • Follow Regeneron's change control process following SDLC methodology before implementing changes in the Production environment
  • • Ensure compliance with IT SOX controls that are defined for Regeneron
  • • Support internal and external resources for SOX and GxP audits
  • • Co-ordinate activities with other IT teams and their Managed Service Providers (e.g. OS updates, troubleshoot infrastructure related issues)
  • • Responsible for capacity planning and performance of non-production Oracle eBS environments
  • • Responsible for getting Root Cause Analysis performed and documented for all major incidents
  • • Ensure learnings from prior incidents are incorporated to refine/define the necessary SOPs as needed
  • • Ensure the Oracle eBS system is kept current with ETCC/technology patches and security updates
  • • Administer, monitor concurrent managers and reports for optimal performance
  • • Create patching recommendations and plans with the Managed Services Provider
  • • Manage Oracle eBS customization standards

Specific Skills:

• Must have hands-on experience as an Oracle eBS DBA for R12

• Must have intimate knowledge of R12 Online Patching process (ADOP)

• Re-platforming experience for Oracle eBS is preferred

• Implementation experience with OCI for Oracle eBS is a plus

• Pharma industry experience is preferred

• Functional/technical exposure to Oracle eBS modules is preferred
