Associate Director, Business HR

The Associate Director, Business Human Resources (BHR)will be a trusted partner to the organization, helping to shape our culture, support our business strategies and finding and developing the talent necessary to make a remarkable impact on AbbVie and patients around the world. Key Responsibilities Include

• Serves as a primary strategic partner to the business, developing HR strategies, needs assessments and resulting HR solutions for R&D Discovery.

• Responsible for partnering with and influencing the business to ensure the effective delivery of all HR programs and services.

• Responsible for HR results in the business, including client satisfaction, HR effectiveness and associated financial results.

• Establishes, builds and maintains strong relationships with business leaders and key HR partners from all Practice Areas and Service Centers to ensure elements of HR are successfully coordinated to provide value and to meet business needs; includes relationship management, leadership, HR roles & responsibilities, and service delivery commitments.

• Acts as an ambassador of the enterprise and functional HR organization to represent the services and resources available to the business and help manage the collective reputation of the HR organization as a whole.

• Develops, coordinates and implements HR strategies to meet organizational needs for the client area(s) supported.

• Actively participates and/or leads HR projects/initiatives that range in scope from client area, cross functional R&D, or enterprise HR.

• Ensures that the actions and delivery of Practice and Service Centers align with overall HR strategy and meet the needs of the business.

• Identifies and develops proposals and recommendations to resolve strategically impactful business issues.

• Manages and leverages human and financial resources within the scope of delivered project services.

• Responsible for managing business needs of multiple senior leaders and teams across therapeutic and functional areas.

• Identify trends and new approaches to business processes that would be both incremental as well as progressive.

• Bachelor's Degree Required. Master's Degree Preferred
• 7+ years diverse HR experience
• Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting the business
• Project management exposure/experience
• Demonstrated understanding of organizational design and effectiveness preferred
• Significant breadth of understanding of functional HR roles and responsibilities and opportunity for impact on the business
• Re-organizational experience strongly preferred
• Significant depth of knowledge of critical success factors and challenges for a major business segment.
