The Finance Manager, US Commercial will provide financial leadership to support organizations within US Commercial; Commercial Analytics and Operations (CA&O), PAP & Grants, Commercial Finance, and Purchasing and lead investment initiatives for US Commercial such as Link It (SG&A Planning Process) and iMAX (Category Spend Management). You will provide financial analysis, recommendations and decision-making support to the respective support organization leader and their staffs. The Finance Manager, US Commercial is responsible for developing and implementing processes and procedures to facilitate accurate and timely consolidations of the Plan, LBEs and LRP and drive key investment initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the efficiency of the quality system through
  • Financial Planning -- Own the planning process for the support organizations as noted above that ensures an accurate and timely integration of business owner level inputs to meet overall division/corporate calendar deadlines for annual Plan and Long-Range Plans (LRPs) and monthly LBEs. Provide recommendations to business owners on key planning assumptions and analysis to explain operating variances as well as business trends.
  • Decision Support / Special Projects -- Provide analyses for ad hoc requests and other business presentations that lend insight into key business drivers enabling operating management to adapt more appropriate tactics / strategy to meet the Division's objectives. Specifically, lead key investment initiative projects for the US Area such as Link It (SG&A Planning Process) and iMAX (Category Spend Management).
  • Staff Development -- Responsible for delegating to and mentoring a staff of 4 employees to ensure an efficient level of support for the businesses supported. Additionally, will provide coaching and growth development opportunities to sustain a high performing staff.
  • Financial Accounting, Reporting & Analysis and Internal Controls -- Ensure financial results for the support organizations as noted above are recorded in compliance with Abbvie financial policies (CFMs) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Establish and/or implement internal controls by providing mentorship and counsel to operating and financial staff in the areas of Corporate Finance Manual (CFMs) polices, divisional internal control procedures. Support an environment of continuous operational improvement to enhance controls. Promote ethics and compliance initiatives in US Commercial by ensuring timely completion of required training and cooperating with internal and external auditors as required. Accountability / scope:

The Finance Manager, US Commercial is responsible for the financial planning processes and reporting for approx. $240MM in expenditures (500+ headcount) and leading the US efforts on Link It and Category Spend. Individual is encouraged to successfully perform responsibilities with a high degree of self-motivation and autonomy.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting
  • 8-10 years overall experience
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, planning and decision-making skills.
  • Extensive interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills including a high energy level.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint technical and content strategy skills.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple activities and shifting priorities under tight timeframes.
  • Project management experience.
