We are seeking a self-motivated and ambitious individual with strong work ethic to join our personalized neoantigen TCR development research program as a Senior Research Scientist in Bioinformatics at our new research and clinical production facility in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The facility is being developed as a Center of Excellence for the advancement of novel TCR mediated T cell therapies targeting tumor mutations and antigens.

Reporting to the Principal Scientist in Bioinformatics, the individual will contribute to the development and implementation of state-of-the art bioinformatics platforms for tumor mutation burden analysis, neoantigen identification, and TCR discovery. A deep understanding of the current experimental methodologies used in single-cell TCR and transcriptome sequencing, and DNA/RNA NGS sequencing is required as well as a good understating of T-cell biology. Demonstrated ability to synthesize scientific questions into a coherent research effort and communicate scientific findings cross-functionally is required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Spearhead the establishment, analysis and evolution of single-cell TCR and transcriptome data analysis
  • Contribute to the analysis and interpretation of DNA/RNA NGS sequencing data with a focus on neoantigen identification and TCR clonality analysis.
  • Supply to the development of prediction algorithms to identify neoantigens with highest therapeutic relevance
  • Build analytical workflows for automated and integrated deployment of bioinformatics tools in a high-performance computing environment for evaluation of all NGS data, in particular single-cell TCR and transcriptome data
  • Contribute to the analysis and interpretation of large data sets, including mining of immunological datasets for e.g. biomarkers, therapeutic targets, cancer mutations
  • Participate in a cross-functional team responsible for the company-wide scale-out of bioinformatics infrastructure as well as external scientific discussions on technology evaluation
