Job Summary

This role is responsible for leading the financial planning, reporting and analysis of Operations activities (clinical and commercial manufacturing) within Amgen's Thousand Oaks based manufacturing sites (ATO). The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively with key stakeholders across the organization including ATO site leadership, Global Supply Chain and R&D.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach and mentor a team of 1-2 individuals responsible for the timely forecasting, reporting and monitoring of ATO gross/net expenses, COGM and headcount.
  • Manage execution of expense planning and reporting for the Long Range Plan, Forecast, Budget, Standard Costing and applicable Forecast-to-Actual variance reporting processes.
  • Deliver timely and insightful expense and headcount trend analytics to senior-level executives within the ATO manufacturing organization.
  • Partner with the Operations Finance consolidation team and other relevant manufacturing sites to manage the overall planning and close calendar for the ATO Finance team.
  • Partner with team members as well as Amgen leaders across Finance and Operations/Global Supply Chain to enhance reporting capabilities for the ATO manufacturing organization.
  • Present results and analysis of ATO site performance to Amgen Finance leadership.
  • Partner with ATO site leadership to identify, monitor and achieve annual productivity goals by generating meaningful analytics and insights.
  • Drive consistency and standardization across ATO manufacturing plants as it relates to expense/headcount planning and reporting.
  • Deliver continuous improvements to planning, reporting and analytical operating expense processes.
  • The successful candidate will take initiative and provide leadership/support on multiple projects.


Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Finance experience
OR
Master's degree and 4 years of Finance experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of Finance experience
OR
Associate's degree and 10 years of Finance experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Finance experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs
  • Financial planning or Cost Accounting experience in a complex Operations/Manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with change management in the areas of processes and systems
  • Problem solving and analytical skills including the ability to synthesize and manage complex data sets into meaningful and clear insights
  • Track record of identifying and delivering process and system improvements and creating a culture of continuous improvement
  • System experience: SAP & Hyperion
  • CPA preferred
  • MBA preferred
