Scope: Black Diamond Therapeutics

is a next- wave cancer precision medicine company. Black Diamond pioneered the development of selective medicines for patients with genetically defined cancers driven by oncogenes activated by allosteric mutations. Using its mutation, allostery and pharmaco logy (MAP) computational and discovery platform, Black Diamond is uncovering new ways to functionally assess the mutational landscape of individual oncogenes - to discover and validate new targets and develop novel approaches to creating highly selective t herapeutics. Black Diamond has an immediate need for a Manager, Financial Reporting. Reporting to the VP of Finance , the incumbent will oversee and help build out Black Diamond's financial reporting by enhancing the current Accounting and Finance function .

Key Responsibilities :

• Review monthly journal entries and Balance Sheet account reconciliations
• Review monthly accruals
• Prepare monthly close binders in accordance with internal control requirements
• Perform periodic Balance Sheet and P&L variance/flux analyses
• Support the preparation of financial statements and footnotes in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Actively support the design and execution of a process transformation initiative around monthly close cycle
• Draft processes, policies, and standard operating procedures around accounting functions and related internal control environment
• Design and provide detailed financial and operational analytics to support monthly results and reporting
• Identify, design and prepare reports/a nalytics to support FP&A process
• Liaise with operations to create, communicate and track the financial status of various operational projects
• Assist in the general ledger system implementation
• Team with third party ERP support specialists to enhance ERP sy stem functionality, troubleshoot issues, and build out reporting capabilities
• Assist in the research and documentation of the accounting treatment for unique transactions
• Manage and execute the implementation of new leasing standards all general ledger act ivity and accounts
• Assist in the preparation of materials to support audit requirements/requests and quarterly reviews, including interacting with auditors
• Cross train with other team members to provide coverage, if/when needed
• Provide accounting support f or special projects and ad-hoc requests

Experience & Qualifications :

• 5+ years of accounting experience, pre ferably with a combination of audit and public company experience
• BA/BS degree in accounting or finance preferred
• CPA required
• Biotech experience is a plus
• Excellent project management and organization skills, as well as attention to detail

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
