Responsibilities

We are seeking a qualified B.S/M.S. level scientist to join the Molecular Analytics/Computer-Assisted Drug Design team at Bristol-Myers Squibb. In this role, the selected candidate will use software development techniques, cheminformatics methods and high performance computing resources to drive impacts in therapeutic projects from lead identification through candidate nomination. This position will include development and maintenance of tools focusing on cheminformatics in the early discovery phase of the drug design process including chemotype identification and curation, reagent classification for library design and automation of workflows.

Qualifications

B.S/B.A. with at least 8-10+ years of relevant experience or M.S./M.A. with at least 6-8+ years of relevant experience or PhD with 1-3 years of relevant experience.

Background in methods for computer science, software development, cheminformatics, computational chemistry, statistical analysis, machine learning or data visualization.

In-depth knowledge of software development life cycle, cheminformatics, computer-aided drug design, machine learning and high performance computing.

Competency in programming, scripting, systems integration and databases required (eg. C, C++, Javascript, Python, R, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, AWS).

A history of impact using computational approaches to drive scientific experiment and design.

An aptitude and desire to learn and apply new techniques is expected.

A basic knowledge of drug discovery processes, medicinal chemistry, biology and ADMET/PK.

Personal attributes of integrity, creativity, problem solving, and strong work ethic.

Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team across geographic areas to advance discovery projects under project team time lines.

Excellent communication skills are a must.
