We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to assist in the development of novel cancer therapeutics in the Cancer Immunobiology Department at our Immuno-Oncology Research and Development Center of Excellence in New York City. The successful candidate is expected to have a broad knowledge of cancer immunology and vaccines with prior academic and/or industry experience and publications in the field. Do you desire to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to collaborate across functional areas? Main responsibilities include the development of in-vitro vaccine assays to validate tumor antigens, characterize antigen-specific T cells and explore vaccine combinations. Excellent communication skills and the ability to contribute independently and in a team setting are required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the discovery and development of new cancer vaccines
  • Establish technologies and assays to evaluate the immunological potential of target antigens and combination strategies
  • Mammalian cell culture: primary immune cell isolation/culture, transfections, stable clone selection, flow cytometry and immunophenotyping
  • Cell based assays: T cell activation, in vitro priming and expansion, antigen-specific T cell
  • Isolation and characterization, ELISPOT assays
  • Provide written and verbal communication of work, present data and data summaries internally and externally as needed
  • Lead and contribute in project team meetings

Basic Qualifications
  • PhD in Biological Sciences (ex. Immunology, Tumor Immunology, Cell Biology).
  • Prior post-doctoral and/or industry research experience in the Immuno-Oncology highly preferred

Additional Skills/Preferences
  • A minimum of 3-5 years post Ph.D. research experience is preferred
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills
  • Lead, mentor and oversee 2 technical track reports
