We are seeking a self-motivated and ambitious Cost Controller Analyst with strong work ethic and leadership qualities to join our new research and clinical production facility in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The facility is being developed as a Center of Excellence for the advancement of novel TCR mediated T cell therapies targeting cancer tumor mutations and antigens.

In this role, you will be responsible for tracking, analyzing and controlling the costs associated with any project and departmental business operation where there are multiple subcontractors, inspectors and suppliers who all need to meet contractual and financial obligations. Your day to day responsibilities will included the forecasting of expenditures, planning budgets, classifying costs by type, tracking hours allocated to projects, verifying supplier invoices and handling change events that impact the budget.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform cost-benefit to aid management in making business decisions. This includes the review of quotes to ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Provide critical assessment of all budgets and cost projections
  • Analyze invoices to ensure correct products/services were received at expected cost and resolve any billing situation between Vendors and Accounts Payable
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of interdependency of cost drivers
  • Develop and implement proactive solutions and cost-cutting measures
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and management of costs
  • Deliver assessments, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential issues and opportunities
  • Prepare and maintain financial monthly reports as required in conjunction with Facilities Management team
  • Perform analysis of gaps in order to resolve any variances
  • Preparation of the quarterly forecast and annual budget process for the Facilities department
  • Accountable in identifying potential accruals and adjustments for goods and or services and feed this back to Finance Department
  • Review of Facilities PO reports and ensure timely closing or receipting of PO's
  • Track and monitor Facilities department spend daily
  • Develop and document standard methodologies and procedures as needed
  • Maintain vendor and service provider relationships
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in written format, with partners, vendors/suppliers and management


Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or relevant field strongly preferred
  • Minimum 4 years' experience working in cost control
  • Management experience strongly preferred
  • Exceptionally well organized with an aptitude for data
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Solid networking and interpersonal skills
  • Able to generate budgets and reports
  • Strong presentation skills, able to explain concepts concisely and accurately
  • Able to develop strong, cooperative relationships with department heads
  • Creative thinking skills and ability to solve problems
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Oracle EBS and other applications
