Position Overview

As part of Nektar's Biologics CMC organization, this position is located in the Bioassay group and will support the development of biologic drug candidates in pre-clinical and clinical stages.

I. Summary:

As part of Nektar's Biologics CMC organization, this position is located in the Bioassay group and will support the development of biologic drug candidates in pre-clinical and clinical stages. Candidate will be responsible primarily for analysis of samples using cell-based potency assays.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the analysis of release, stability and process characterization samples from biologic drug candidates using cell-based potency assays. Candidate may also support the development and validation of cell-based assays for early-stage programs. May be responsible for maintaining the propagation of cell lines and laboratory equipment supporting. Must be able to accurately and precisely execute technically challenging experiments following appropriate guidance and procedures. Can effectively communicate assay-related activities and results with appropriate technical detail. Collects and analyzes data to prepare technical reports, summaries, and presentations to the department and key stakeholders. Must be able to maintain accurate and well-organized laboratory records, worksheets and notebooks.

III. Minimum Qualification Requirements:

A minimum of a Bachelor degree in a scientific discipline is required with a minimum 2 years work experience preferably in a regulated (GLP or GMP) or development (bioanalytical, QC) environment. Must have significant hands-on laboratory experience with cell culture and cell-based assays. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and good computer skills including MS word, Excel, PowerPoint are required. Working with electronic notebooks and familiarity with graphing or statistical packages (Graph Pad Prism, PLA, StatLia, etc) is desirable.
