We are seeking a Project Associate II to join the growing Development Pipeline Operations team (support staff) in the Development Program Management department. This associate will, under supervision, assist in operational aspects of the broader group, help drive process improvement efforts, and ensure overall team coordination. This role is a direct contributor to the overall success of the department.

Job Duties:

Project management: Utilizes project management techniques to manage a variety of tasks and keep multiple cross-functional projects on time.
Process improvement/problem solving: Defines and documents working / best practices, procedures, and tools by performing analyses and preparing recommendations. Identifies, develops and supports continuous improvement processes and metrics for project / program practices, procedures, and tools.
Systems: Supports the implementation and administration of various systems and tools used by the department. Assists in the group's technical expertise of systems like SharePoint, Qlik, OnePager, MS Project, and more.
Communication: Ensures effective, accurate and timely communication within the department or across different functional areas.
Team player: Knows how to work cross functionally or within a matrix environment. Is able to navigate a variety of personalities and at times, competing interests. Able to use sound judgment in decision making or able to put other priorities above current work as the situation demands.
Department coordination: Overall support to the department which may include meeting logistics and general team support.

  • Basic knowledge of and experience in project management techniques and concepts as they apply to the drug development / pharmaceutical industry.
  • Action oriented and organized. Demonstrates excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with team members with tact and diplomacy. Handles multiple projects and priorities with excellent time management skills (both project and self)
  • Proficient in relevant software: MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. in addition to general knowledge with shared work environments.
  • Capability to learn an assortment of new concepts (software, processes, etc.) and quickly pivot to teaching others.
  • Scientific background with a basic comprehension of biology concepts and terminologies.
  • BS with +2 years of applicable experience.
