Job Summary

The Cellular Sciences department is seeking an Associate to join our Cell Bank and Critical Reagent Group. The candidate will primarily perform cell banking operations according to cGMP, including aseptic operations for cell culture scale-up and freeze of mammalian cell banks and data analysis related to cell bank performance under minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will also participate in cross-functional teams and represent the cell banking group. In addition to laboratory activities, the employee may also design and perform different scientific experiments related to the cell bank job function, document results in electronic laboratory notebooks, and communicate findings in written technical reports. Employee will perform and monitor critical processes, will draft, review and approve documents such as Manufacturing Procedures and technical reports. The candidate will also assist in preventive maintenance work orders and support the Cell Bank's system owner.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

OR

Associate degree and 4 years of Scientific experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in cell biology, life sciences or related field with a minimum of 2 years related experience.
  • Candidates should demonstrate the ability to understand apply and evaluate cell biology.
  • Additional requirements include knowledge of Change Control Management System (CCMS), Nonconformance system, project management, basic understanding of equipment and processes, and computer skills.
  • Candidates should be able to interpret and apply GMP knowledge, understand analytical methods for manufacturing area, and demonstrate technical writing capability.
  • Successful candidates will also demonstrate basic presentation skills and should be able to independently collaborate with other functional areas.
  • Successful candidate will have the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and should display excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) and a solid scientific background are necessary.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with cell culture is also necessary.
