Lead the financial planning and analysis function and play a central role in the creation and maintenance of financial budgets and forecasts. Assist in strategic financial planning and assess financial results as they relate to company objectives and key performance indicators. Additional responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain and refine management reporting for headcount, expense and capital expenditures, linking business drivers to variances on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Provide insightful financial analysis in support of the company's business strategy by leveraging the company's internal accounting and financial processes in order to scale and improve speed and accuracy of financial reporting
  • Communicate key findings to senior management by developing presentations, financial modeling, and industry comparisons, as needed
  • Build strong relationships with functional leadership and maintain joint accountability with the business for the accuracy of financial plans
  • Communicate effectively with team members, senior leaders, and the broader organization regarding a variety of financial matters
  • Clarify resource timing and magnitude to achieve company objectives, including identification of critical path issues, alternative scenarios and identification of risk mitigation plans
  • Contribute to and implement departmental policies to ensure proper accounting treatment, particularly related to purchase orders, contracts and expense recognition
  • Partner with members of the finance organization, project teams and department heads to ensure consistency between corporate goals, project timelines, financial plans
  • Demonstrated understanding of GAAP accounting and key non-GAAP metrics
  • Assist with the financial audit and development of internal control processes
  • Conduct ad hoc financial modeling as needed
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of biopharmaceutical industry experience and a minimum of 5 years of financial planning and analysis experience supporting a variety of functional areas and interdisciplinary teams
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Advanced degree or credential (MBA, CPA or CFA) preferred. Experience within a rapidly growing biopharmaceutical company highly desirable
  • Ability to deliver executive level presentations by synthesizing and communicating key findings. This role will advise and support the company's management and project teams by presenting and analyzing financial results. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to communicate with senior management, peers and clients in a clear, concise and effective manner.
  • Prior success in leading, managing and mentoring FP&A professionals and ability to grow team to pace with the company's needs
  • Biotechnology industry operational experience strongly preferred including working knowledge of clinical development and manufacturing areas
  • Sound judgment, problem solving, and collaboration in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to problems and ability to effectively influence business partners and decisions to the benefit of the company
  • Ability to effectively identify and implement systematic approaches in order to maximize efficiencies and scalability
  • Experience with ERP systems, financial planning tools, financial systems implementations, as well facility with standard suite of applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Willingness and ability to operate independently supporting multiple business needs at all levels to achieve company goals and objectives

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Well organized and strong attention to detail
