Clover Therapeutics has the most genetically diverse, re-contactable, and longitudinal patient community dedicated to diseases of aging research. Our drug programs pursue differentiated biological pathways and genetically validated targets in common diseases of aging.

We have built our research infrastructure on top of Clover Health’s pioneering Medicare Advantage community. Clover Health and Therapeutics are focused on improving patient lives with the use of technology, and leverage a single data system integrating claims, EHRs, labs, and additional clinical and socio-behavioral data.

We’re looking to hire a Senior Scientist, Human Genetics who will be responsible for identifying novel therapeutic targets and diagnostics from the investigation of human genetic variation. As genetic background is a major component of many diseases, this role has an out-sized impact on achieving our vision for precision medicine. Diseases of interest include common disease of aging (ocular, cardiovascular, inflammatory, neuro-degenerative and metabolic disorders). You will concentrate on a subset of these disorders to ensure focus. Clover Therapeutics combines an exceptional research opportunity, a unique patient cohort, rich clinical data, and cutting edge technologies and computational resources to support research activities.

We are a collaborative community. You will interact closely with clinical development teams and other scientists in the areas of drug development, data science, and engineering. You will lead the genetics strategy and shape the future of the company.

As a Senior Scientist you will:

  • Collaborate with clinical staff, data scientists and wet lab scientists to inform the strategy for target and biomarker discovery.
  • Design and execute targeted genetic association studies along with interpretation of findings to uncover novel therapeutic targets and biomarkers of disease heterogeneity, progression, and treatment response.
  • Develop infrastructure and methods required to fulfill these goals.
  • Participate in strategic external collaborations in pursuit of these goals.
  • Participate in the formulation and execution of a strategic vision for the company.
  • Maintain an excellent publication record.
  • Regularly present at internal and external meetings to audiences of diverse scientific backgrounds.

You will love this job if:

  • You are committed to helping patients achieve better health - both in the short and long-term while building the best possible patient experience in all research activities.
  • You are motivated by the mission of addressing large unmet needs in aging-related diseases.
  • You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and work effectively operating in smaller team settings.
  • You are nimble, and like working in a constantly evolving environment.

You should get in touch if:

  • You hold an MD or PhD, with postdoctoral and >5 years research experience in the field of Human Genetics. Industry experience strongly preferred.
  • You have an excellent record of scientific publications in top tier journals.
  • You have substantial experience with genetic association studies. Experience in translating genetic hits into validated drug targets is a significant advantage.
  • You’re a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to present and explain findings to a diverse audience.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment and are highly motivated to work with experimental scientists.
  • You’re able and interested to work on multiple disease phenotypes.
  • You’re familiar with large public genetic databases.
