Job Details

The Senior Accountant has accounting responsibility for several centralized accounting processes within FSS RTR-US. Finance Shared Services is responsible for centralizing and executing accounting processes, governance and controls and delivering organizational efficiencies via centralization of common accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Initiate and approve journal entries; coordinate with BPO on posting within BlackLine
  • Support the R&D accounting functions. Partner with FPA to ensure proper accounting for areas such as prepaids and accruals, allocations and chargebacks;
  • Review account reconciliations within BlackLine and ensure are within policy with appropriate supporting documentation;
  • Execute monthly centralized accounting and prepare analyses for the global AbbVie Incentive Program. Partner with Sr. Management and FPA to ensure adequate accounting controls and assist with annual audit and management reporting.
  • Execute monthly accounting and prepare monthly reporting for the various Abbvie charitable Foundations. Assist with audit schedules and requests throughout the year for their year-end audits.
  • Ensure appropriate processes and controls are in place for all areas of responsibility. This position also reviews data sources for accuracy and completeness, collaborates with business FP&A to ensure complete and accurate results and must comply with AbbVie policies and US GAAP.
  • Responsible for creating ideas to reduce entries and create simplifications for accounting and business processes.


Basic:
  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy /finance with 4-6 years of accounting experience
  • CPA preferred or progress toward attaining CPA
  • Ability to multi task and deal with time constraints to effectively manage various deadlines
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Individual must be self-motivated and be able to work independently
  • Must be proficient in Excel. Knowledge of SAP, BlackLine and HFM a plus
  • A driven, energetic person with very strong accounting & compliance expertise and an ability to work with various cross functional stakeholders to achieve results.
