Position Overview:

Molecular Templates is seeking a highly-skilled and highly-motivated professional to support payroll activities. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for processing payroll in accordance with company pay policies. This includes processing employee-initiated changes related to payroll, maintain records for vacation/holiday/sick leave and worker's compensation. This requires accounting skills and knowledge, analytical and mathematical skills, organizational and time-management skills, verbal and written communication skills, plus ability to apply attention to detail and manage competing priorities.

Job Responsibilities will include:
  • Compile payroll data and process employee status changes, tax changes, deductions, direct deposit forms and benefits
  • Maintain employee records inclusive of but not limited to tax documents, payment information, vacation/holiday, sick leave, worker's compensation records,
  • Audit employee pay records and reconciles totals by department
  • Interpret company pay policies and ensures appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to the correct accounts
  • Manage payroll inquiries
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with all accounting regulations
  • Other duties and special projects, as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited institution in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of four (4) years relevant experience in general accounting and payroll functions
  • Comprehensive and practical knowledge of accounting theories and practices
  • Experience with payroll processing functions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office with intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to maintain highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to function independently and exercise good judgement, as well as be a team-player
  • Ability to work well under pressure and capable of meeting rapid, frequent deadlines


Reporting Structure:

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. This position reports to Director, Accounting Operations.
