The Senior Supply Chain Lead Planner will be a key member of a growing Supply Chain team which is currently building a supply chain function including all aspects of Plan-Source-Make-Deliver as well as launch readiness, product security and packaging. The focus of this role will be to develop Supply Planning and Forecasting models, as well as logistical coordination of Raw Materials and Final Product for a small set of critical suppliers and third-party logistic providers.

This Senior Supply Chain Lead Planner is expected to develop and lead the core pillars of the Plan and Deliver portions of the Supply Chain. This team member will be a part of the broader CMC organization which aims to drive operational excellence for the successful development of Precision BioSciences Cell and Gene Therapy Products. This individual will be central to orchestrating delivery of and maintaining supply availability for the key inputs throughout the manufacturing process as well as delivery of the final product to the clinic and future commercial markets.

This role has significant long-term growth potential to develop, grow and lead within the Supply Chain team and will require close coordination with clinical operations, manufacturing and CMOs. Skills in operational risk analysis, financial and operational modeling, and decision analysis are highly advantageous.

  • Build and implement Precision BioSciences' supply chain planning function including ultra-cold chain logistics to support multiple early phase cell and gene therapy clinical programs through to commercial launch
  • Manage and coordinate supply for internal or outsourced activities to ensure timely procurement and distribution of material
  • Manage inventory and disposition of critical starting material in coordination with new manufacturing facility, warehouse manager, 3PL storage facilities and CMOs
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine forecasting and inventory management models to ensure timely and cost-effective product procurement
  • Develop and recommend systems or SAAS products, such as Inventory Management systems and Visual Supply chain analytics, to compliment and automate planning activities and implement, in concert, with Information Technology team
  • Set supply chain planning metrics and goals and develop dashboard and reporting metrics to support the function
  • Establish restock and re-order levels for all critical inputs
  • Coordinate cross-functional interactions with key stakeholders (e.g. Development Program Leads, Clinical, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance)

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or life sciences with a preference for a multi-faceted business-science or engineering background, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in operational roles in the Biopharmaceutical industry including GMP supply chain across all product lifecycle phases and multiple geographies including North America and Europe
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization;strong communication skills with outside contract organizations

Preferred
  • Industry certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, and/or CPSM
  • Working knowledge of cGMP's and pharmaceutical industry procedures and regulations
  • Ability to Plan, Forecast & develop Materials Resource Planning and Inventory Management Systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Sage, or NetSuite, and Real-time Visual Supply Chain and Inventory Management Systems
  • Good understanding of Quality Systems and conceptual, strategic, and analytical problem solving
  • Strong personal alignment with Precision BioSciences values, mission, and vision
