The QC Virology Molecular Intern will be responsible for investigating new methods and technologies to support method development in QC Virology with a focus on further development of next generation sequencing technologies and other novel molecular based methods in a cGMP compliant manner. Accountable for the technical performance and results of the project under the guidance of an intern manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Develop and implement new technologies and molecular methods in a GMP environment

• Work closely with train personnel in basic to complex laboratory and troubleshooting techniques (e.g. CRISPR/Gene therapy, PCR methods, etc.).

• Evaluate and implement new techniques and technologies in GMP environment (e.g. Third Generation Sequencing)

• Apply fundamental understanding and knowledge to perform well defined tasks.

• Apply basic and advanced troubleshooting methods.

• Excellent writing and communication skills to provide clear consise updates and feedback for assigned tasks and projects.

• Gathers and organizes information at a basic level.

• Meets commitments on time, safely and with the highest quality.

• Seeks out opportunities and has a desire to learn both the technical aspects and Industrial Operations and Product Supply (IOPS) culture.

• Balances multiple tasks at a time.

• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance (SCC) at all times.

Education and Experience:

• Requires enrollement towards Biological or Analytical Undergraduate/Graduate degree with a focus on molecular biology, analytical techniques, Next-Generation Sequencing, or related field with 0+ years equivalent experience of biotech or pharmaceutical industry in a GMP setting.

• Experience with advanced molecular techniques (i.e; CRISPR/Gene Therapy, NGS) and bioinformatics preferred.

• Candidates should have some experience working with large data sets and analysis of large amounts of data to make concrete conclusions
